I was wondering if there was any interest for a 'nother Seattle 914 Breakfast at a place to be decided.
I am getting hungry for a greasy eggs, hashbrowns, and toast plus some good coffee and some update conversation on peoples cars, the winter projects etc.
Open for what weekend?
Where to meet?
Kevin can bring lots of stickers to sell!
Geoff
Count me in, is there a place a little bigger than Alki ? possibly a Shari's or something.
Neal
Hi guys, Newbie alert...
You have met my friends "Eddie K" and "914to6" (Walt S).
I'm the third link to the 914/6 triangle. All three of us are BMW 5 series owners (E28 chassis 1982-1988) that have enjoyed tracking our cars for the past few years.
The decision was made this year (when Eddie found the perfect car) to purchase a dedicated car for the ’04 track season. This car will be a group learning effort, as none of us have ever owned a “P” car before. I can already tell that it is going to be a blast on the track…
I’m having a get-together this Sat. at my place in Gig Harbor. We will be wrenching on some local E28’s (I’m figuring about 6-8 cars will be here). Beer will be flowing as well…
I would like to extend an open invite to any local “teeners” out there that want to come down…
Eddie is working furiously this week to get the 914 licensed so he can give it a (legal) road test, and show it off to the E28 guys.
Directions can be found on my website under the Dates/Events tab.

Hope to meet some of you,
Mark

I'm in!
The earlier the better for me.
I have to be on the eastside Wednesday.
Eddie
I wanna come eat breakfast.
As long as it's not this saturday.
The 356 Club always met at Mitzels - just like Shari's -down in Fife, they were VERY accomodating when 30 + people showed up. And its halfway between everywhere in North / South I-5 corridor (not that it matters to me, I'll be driving 140 miles).
Whatever though, I'll really try and make it anywhere.
Robert O
First welcome Mark great to see another guy from the harbor. I'll see if I can stop by your place and look undrer the bonnet.
Geoff
Great idea. I'm open for anything almost any time. Count me in. I'll see if Kevin and I and any other T town people can caravan up.
Dave
Ya gotta wear the hat Dave
I would like to attend, but without the teener, the old girl is going in for paint next week and so it will be a while before I get her back together...
But I'm in for a Saturday or Sunday...
2-OH!
Im in...
The greasy er the better. Ill crawl out from under my rock. Saturday works.
Dave, since you STILL DON'T HAVE A VAN how about a place in Fremont? That Fisherwomans wife or whatever its called?
Maybe Feb 7th??
Geoff
Fremont area is an excellent idea.
Or maybe that breakfast place in Kirkland that the Pelican 911 crowd likes?
Just had my stock 2.0 dyno'd... 73 hp (and 88 ft-lb torque) at the rear wheels..
Ill take a moning off from the home remodel project for a spin & some coffee!
I was just thinking outloud about Fremont cuz Dave said he wanted to come. He can drive himself 2 blocks to the Fishermans Daughter in his cool 4 wheeler.
I know the rest of you can drive, beg a ride, or walk to the spot. Kirkland is harder for him and I don't know anyplaces good to eat in Gig Harbor/Tacoma. (is there?)
Where in Kirkland does the 911 crowd eat?
Geoff
Fisherman's Daughter sounds cool. I've never been there.
The Pelican 911 crowd likes the Brown Bag Cafe, 12217 NE 116th St. in Kirkland.
I've never been there, either..
Just for future reference, we should find out where the 356 club meets in Tacoma..
they've been meeting at the same restaurant for a long time, once a month!
- Roger
That works for me. Hopefully it won't rain. Let's get the year off to a good start.
Dave
what no party favors? i used to go to the brown bag with my dad. the food is good but it can get pretty busy. i don't care where we go, except hell.
kevin
Ok, we are on for February 7th at 9:14 AM for breakfast. I will drive by the place and check it out first.
Geoff
Kevin are you online this am??
If anyone has a number I can call Kevin at please let me know.
Thanks
CCL
Fisherman's Daughter is a cool place, but its as hard as the Brown Bag to squeeze into on a Sat. morning and a bit smaller, most of their tables are for 2. I used to eat there a bunch when I was at UW, NOT a place for large-er parties. And I doubt they'll split a check! And where will everyone park in Fremont on a Saturday Morn?
hhmmm..... .. .. <_<
oh, and Roger, check my post above...Mitzels loves the 356 Club.
We can park at Daves its only a half a block away. Maybe Dave has a suggestion on where we can eat thats close to his place.
Geoff
i changed my mind. l vote for tacoma. along the water front on ruston way is very nice. we could dine at the spar tavern. good food, rather up scale, low key. this shortens the distance for guys that might like to come up from p-land, van, boring, etc., and points in between.
kevin
...and, i can get garranteed tables if i give a time a #of heads. my wife has her car to show also. so there is another tacoma vote too.
kevin
Its called Long-Shoreman's Daughter.
We had a friend of my aunt make/donate a ramp. So we are somewhat more mobile...
Still prolly gonna be late
Pic of the ramp, mohawk, beer, ...
Attached image(s)
Or down the street from Daves is the Still Life Cafe.
I am ok with going to Tacoma as long as its nowhere near the Hilltop area. Along Ruston Way is nice, so what place then Kevin?
Geoff
Isn't Tacoma just shy of the MOON !, how about the top of Snoqualamie pass lots of parking
Yeah, lets put on chains and go up there for breakfast and skiing afterwards. That would be a riot with 15 914's in the parking lot.
Hey, wait a minute...mine is too low for that lot. I would rip something off hitting the first huge pothole !!!
I like it close to Dave's so its easy on HIM...remember if he drives it means Kori has to get him there and back with the kids so lets be easy on her. Dave can drive his gizmo a block and a half alone to the Still Life Cafe and make it easy. We can park the 914's in his parking area.
Keep
It
Simple
Stupids
Geoff
What time is the Ferrari Club thing so we can crash it afterwards!
Let's meet at Dave's place in Fremont..
Mitzel's Restaurant in Fife (the 356 hangout) sounds like
a good place to meet sometime, too!.. thanks, 914ghost..
Before you go to a ski area, think about it and watch this video. http://www.crownvic.us/movies/snowtowcar.wmv
CCLINCECILBDEMILLE
I have never seen anything like that in my life, the collective brain trust... the future !
I have 4 studded snow tires for my 914, drove all the way to Whitefish Montana to ski, that car is good in the snow.
I have Kumho Victoracers on mine, do you think they would stick in the snow?
Geoff
Any decision on location? Iam flexable on location, just need to know to not schedule weekend work at the shop. Beths cafe on Aurora still around?
Gawd I haven't thought of Beth's Cafe in years. One word "Munchies". No other explanation for how a person could get around their ommelettes and hash browns. I couldn't do that anymore.
Dave
i lived 3 doors up from beths on 74th. drunks blowing b-fast outside beths at 2 am while you are shrooming is quite the experience.
kevin
I dunno if Dave can make Beths nor my stomach..
I still say the Still Life Cafe as it has a lots of tables, good food, is close so Dave can drive his buggy.
If you want I'll snag a menu tomorrow....but that's my vote.
Dave, is this good?
Hey Korijo! Is this good for you?
No Beth's !! My buddy had to call Heath Isp. on that place.
Scraping spatulas on the edge of a trash can, cracking eggs on the ceiling
So Iam not the only one that lost a few brain cells at Beths. Last time for me was 78 or so, cant really remember but my buddies say I had a good time No Beths, good plan. Not sure where Still life is but it sounds good.
Still Life Cafe
709 N. 35th Street, Seattle, WA

Like I said Dave lives about a block away!

i live here...
Attached image(s)
And since it's Fremont, does the Free Parking include any UFOs in the neighborhood?..
I'm in. Glad to hear it's not Beth's. I'm not capable anymore of preparing for Beth's early on a Saturday morning. Not sure I could on a Saturday night either for that matter.
Looking forward to it
Dave
The Still Life sounds good
We would like to show up.
Awsome Will you be driving a teener equiped as a rolling testbed of your products?
BTW the Ferarri club open house is at 10 to prolly noon. No wine and Cheese but Im told at least a Barrista and muffins!
I do have a set of the speaker pods I bought from Morphenspectra that I was gunna bring to the show and tell part of the Breakfast.
I will still bring em
Kevin, bring some stickers....
Dave Hunt, bring some EFI stuff...
What else can people bring thats cool??
Geoff
I could bring a set of 17" Cup wheels if anyone wants em', or maybe a set of 16x7" H.R.E. 3 piece wheels...look like BBS's sorta.
Not my stuff, they're in a garage of a guy I know and he wants to sell em'. I don't know a price.
Second thought ... not sure I could fit 4 wheels in a 914.
Robert O
I can bring my p-car kid to a breakfast this summer.
She gets home from college in June.
Only if she does Ebay part modeling for us in a wet tank top......
Speaking of kids, how's Blair doing in Arizona?
He's been very quiet over on the RX-7 forum..
Working/partying and starting school this monday. Loves the weather there.
Blair is looking for a good 914 to buy
Feb 7th at 9:14 at the Still Life Cafe, 709 N. 35th St, Seattle.
Yeah, dose Pelican 911 guys might show up again..
Back home again...
Glad its local, only gotta drive a block.
Good thing, cuz the donated SS ramp (described above) was stolen .
If it weren't for bad luck....
Sorry to hear about that, korijo.
We have invited a couple of people, I don't know if they'll show up or not. They live in the Seattle area.
morphen, you should bring up a couple of sets of speaker housings and maybe some speaker sets if you should come up. i might show up if you do.
kevin
Damn.
I am quiting my job today and leaving for Seattle Feb 7th am. Won't be there till about 5pm although.
Dave, looks like you live right by that big troll under the bridge! Thats a cool area. I will be right across the Fremont bridge in Queen Anne.
I have a set of NEW FG flares with matching rockers I can deliver to someone in the Seattle area.
Cheap! $350????
Make me an offer.
Dave
Yeah, I'll p0p for one of those tan carpet sets with the black edging. Cash money too.
Yeah Kev :finger2:
My 914 was running fine the other day, so I took it out for a drive again today. Not good, not fun.. idles up and down, misfires, sputters. Good power in nanosecond bursts.
I'm glad this meet is pretty close by.. I wouldn't want to drive down to Fife or Tacoma and back again. But it'll be ready by then.
oh boy, you space needlers imply going tacoma is like sending a wheeled robot to mars. 35 miles, if you can't handle that go ahead and make other plans for june.
kevin
We'll bring some stuff.
No, going to Tacoma is like going to Uranus! Smells like it too!
Went to the Still Life today. I like the atmosphere. Lots of wood.. wood tables, wood benches, wood chairs.. it's a comfy old coffeehouse! Seating for about 40-45 people, with lots of elbow room. The waitress said on Saturday mornings they're usually about 1/2 full. The manager wasn't there, so I left a message for her that there will be about 15-20 of us (?), and we'll arrive about 9:15 or so. I'll call her tomorrow to ask if she can reserve some tables for us.. the long ones against the side wall would be perfect.
It's a nice cozy place, but for those of you driving a long way, you might want to do this get-together and something else besides. The waitress was gorgeous, but a scenic cruise may be more realistic.
I thought we were crashing the Ferrari party afterwards......
Oh yeah!.. I have to find my blue blazer.
Anyone know when and where the Ferrari party is?
I think my Brother would like to crash it.
Dave
He wouldn't want to crash our party?
you just have to get right down there and up close with the sniffer geoff. the aroma-de-tacoma is long gone.
kevin
still smells pretty bad when the tide is out on a sunny day.............
This Thread is cool...
Its exciting to see a third region with a 9:14 Brreakfast. Bay Area, Seattle and DC.
I look forward to the photos and have a blast!
Set-up the next one aready! We have them every month in the Bay Area...be cool if you would too...
Ok Kevin, lets follow Jeff B advice for one in March. YOU CAN PICK THE LOCATION!!!! The waterfront along Ruston is great, under the Dome is fine too. Just somewhere so you stop your bitchin and complaining about how far Seattle is and how cool Tacoma is.... maybe somewhere near the glassmuseum?
Geoff
Are you guys ever gonna have this damn breakfast so we can clean this off the board?
Shoot, we is just planning the next one .........
You is sure sounding like Kevin, you related to 'em?
he's my mentor, so shaddup!
Great! just what I wanted to hear.....
We have a reservation at The Still Life.. by the way, that place seems to be very popular with attractive young women of taste.. when I stopped in today, the women outnumbered the guys by at least 15:3..
how I wish I was 21 again!.. damn.
A show of hands might be good..
Re next time, a 356 buddy of mine highly recommends Mitzel's in Fife.. says they've been meeting there once a month for the last 3 freakin' years.. what dost thou thinkest, Kev?
Roger
I got a problem here. My wife is a woman of taste, If I come clear up to Seattle I don't want to be hanging out with more women of taste (jenny excluded of course). Distasteful as it sounds, women of taste don't mix too well with car guys talking about their BFH. Unless of course we can talk tastefully about our BFH.
But who the hell wants do that. Course I must remember I'm kind of provincial living down here in smelly old Tacoma.
Dave
i still say The Spar. i promise not to disappoint. see you wankers tomorrow. bring your sticker money. you tell em' sean.
kevin
yeah, buy a sticker damnit and shaddup!
I am coming by myself to enjoy the view at Still Life.
Kevin, is there a HOOters in Tacoma yet?
Geoff
hi - sorry i can't figure this out by myself, but when and where is the seattle 914 breakfast? thanks, it's brad
You guys are a hoot.
Lookin' forward to a mellow get-together..
whew i was worried that i wasnt gonna make it there sat but i got my webers on and running smooth.
i only have one carpet in stock ill bring that. and i have finished and unfinished ports (speakers)
i also have a sound solution ill bring and i have a factory second sport console that ill let go of for a discount, see ya all in the mourning
Free parking for all at my place. 3601 Fremont Ave N.
Enter thru the alley on 36th. Park in Garage if raining, outside if not...
Please park at Daves since there isn't parking anyway for the cafe.
(see the map posted earlier)
Geoff
you guys are just afraid all the smart looking or interesting looking, whatever you called them girls will see you guys get out of those silly looking cars!
Actually, if you had ever been here, there is no fucking parking around there on the streets. Too many bus stops, bike lanes etc.
Geoff
I hope the girls look like this!
Attached image(s)
Dream on, see you all in the AM. Turns out I dont have to be in Portland on Sat for the auto show. Anyone seen or driven the Noble M12 GTO ? I have, wicked FAST!
Fremont girls are very visually interesting.
There is a small "pay" parking lot across the street from Still Life, and there's on-street parking
all over the area (which is remarkably free of SUVs and big pickups), and there's Dave's place.
Kevin
I got to the office for paperwork this morning. I'll meet you at Port of Tacoma exit South side of the freeway at 8:05
Dave
better hurry guys..........but I'll save you a spot.
Geoff
Sorry!
I will NOT be able to make the breakfast this morning.
I'm already at the office slaving away cranking out tax returns.
I tried to juggle my schedule but to no avail!
This time of the year is a bit busy for us CPA types.
I'll catch you later.
Eddie
'71 914/6 2.7
What! you cant enjoy breakfast with the guys??? Man, some people.
If I didnt have bad luck....
Flew in late last night from vegas, go out this morn to take the cover off the teener and warm her cockles, but WTF..
Starter solonide is inop!
Get out the BFH..WHAM BANG still no start. OFF it comes
Ill be there, but driving the truck
anybody seen rodger ? if i pick out a place for breakfast i WILL show up. even if i have to take the bus. it was nice to see everyone. the place had the worst and most exspensive pancakes i have ever choked down. syrup sucked too.
kevin
Hey Kevin, its not a IHOP. Why did you order pancakes??? The eggs were good.
Geoff
Silver, intersection POT road and old 99, approximately 8 a.m. ?
rar, was that you in the 911? that would have been me in the silver 73'.
kevin
Bob, you coming to the next breakfast?
well we know he's in washington. tacoma or what? we should do something in april when joe comes up to retrieve his car. but i'm not driving to gold bar. when you guys go to jp's do yourselves a favor, cut over on 405 and catch 167/512. it's just as fast and the road is 1000% better.
kevin
Usually in Brad lap, as that is a pic from California.
In Seattle, we have only had one event at a Hooters cuz most guys wifes bitch about it so much. Meow......
Need to do one at HOOters soon to separate the men from the boys!
Geoff
Maybe we should use a secret code-word for it.. Starbucks.
Yeah, that Starbucks.. you know.
Nope, get some balls and tell the wife or girlfriend that where we are going. Its a GUY thing to do this.
Geoff
Okay, but it has to be before this summer.
My kid wants to work there.. and 914 guys don't tip good enough.
My tip depends on if they rub me the right way.
"They"... so it's a groupe tip?.. the math gets complicated.
*cough cough* anyway.. it's up to you.
There is usually two of them, like in a pair.
Only two?.. this is a tough one.
churches? apples? very small rocks? Starbucks?
Gotta go.. the Westminster dog show is on.. WOOF
