OK, I have finaly started the process of tear-down!
My plan is to remove and replace:
The Oil Return Tubes
The Trailing Arms
Powder coat everything
Maybe Muellers Bearings toooooooo!
Can I powder coat the Heat Exchangers or should I just paint them?
Woohoo, we will see! I will post more photos as I progress!

Hey Jeff........
NO powdercoating* on the H/E's......ceramic coating is fine
*supposedly thier is a special high temp powdercoating, but you'll see better results with the ceramic coating, IMHO
Thanks Mueller, I had heard that!
Anyone have a source for Ceramic coatings in the East Bay Area?
Jeff
Jeff,
send the exchangers to me and I'll take care of the coating for ya.
PM me for address.
Jeff, your transmission mounts are put together wrong. The big dished washer goes up on the mount, not under the transmission ear.
BTW, ceramic coating is the way to go - nice stuff!
I could not find a photo that matched the assembly on my car! Does anyone have a photo of the correct configuration?

This is the only photo I could find!

I haven't done a real -6, but I believe this is correct.

I just removed mine (the mounts) yesterday. Sean's photo work is correct.

youre replacing trailing arms? why-
The drivers side arm is bent! The PO must have slid it into a curb or something. It has about 2" of camber spacers.

Jeff, uh yeah, sure I do, huh, huh. That's what I meant LOL!
I used Jet-Hott Sterling for several things on the blue car. I love that stuff.
silver (I don't have it, Jet-Hott does). I send it out. It was all a ploy to get some HE's.
Progress has been made.....slow but sure!!

I realize this is the Mickey Mouse way to do it but I couldn't find my Bearing tap extension so I had to improvise!! I wouldn't want to use the bearings after removal anyway!
Jeff
Just in case you are trying to do this while it is still in the car, there is a certain order you need to remove things!
After removing the Wheels, brakes and rotor then:
1. Remove the Axels
2. Tap hub out
3. Remove Bearing retainer plate
4. Tap out bearing out

OK I am making some progress! I am not going to be able to attend the WCC because I have to get this going and then move to the new home in Discovery Bay!!
The suspension is done and just needs some detailing and reassembling.

looks good Jeff.....are you selling the /6 or keeping it?
not that I have personal experiance......but you might be interested to know that out on Vasco Rd they installed some automatic speed limit signs that tell you what your current speed is......I "heard" that they flip out and flash 0 and 70 when passed while going a little over 130
Yep, I saw those last week when I was doing the inspection on my new place!! I didn't test the 130 mph thing though....every time I go up there I see at least 3 Highway Patrol pulling someone over!! That is one hell of a fun road at top speed though!!
I am moving along!!
I hope to drive it this weekend!
Oil Return Tubes were a bitch!!

Wooohoo!! I drove it all day yesterday!!
No leaks, runs like a champ!! I still need to properly time it but it still runs great!!
It has been over 9 months since I have been able to play with my baby!! I even cleaned out the garage!!
Thanks to all who helped me! Now I can drive it up to my new house and take it apart again!!
