914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rocker arm spacer use

Posted by: bdstone914 Jul 2 2008, 11:16 PM

I was assembling the heads on a 2056 today and I purchased solid spacers from European motorworks. When I put the rockers together with the spacer replacing just the spring, while still having a washer on both sides, It will bind while going on, It just wont fit correctly, Without the spacers it fits with just a little wobble. So what should I do? Jake?

Can't help ya.... Haven't used any other than ours for a long while now..

Back when I did use the EMW units they were steel and did not use the shims..

BOlt the rockers to the heads without the spacers and take a measurment of the inside dimention( the distance between the rockers where the spacer should be).

Then, measure the thickness of the spacers and washers.

You want the spacer/washer stackup about .003 smaller than the distance between the between the rockers.

When I did mine, I sanded the spacer until I got the right measurment.
