"Suggestions"? Find a new mechanic. An "009" is a drop in. A bad drop in, but a drop in nevertheless. Fits all T1 and T4 based engines, and even 356/912 engines. One assumes you're not running D-jet EFI, which requires a D-jet distributor.

Mallory. Check out Raby Aircooled Technology. He will set it up for your application.

Since you have a single carb, why spend any money on a good distributor? Just use the 009. Set the timing to 30 degrees advanced at 3000 RPM. The Cap'n
