He's only trying to get his money back out of it...
1976 914 2.0 = $9,000.00
Getting it running = $20,000.00
The look on the sellers face when he reads this thread = Priceless

Phew, I love seeing dealers sell 914's. Though as Dr. Evil will attest, it's hard finding a rust-free 914 around here, and this had better be rust free for ~$30k! Plus '76s are practically new ;-)
Now to call Safeco and adjust my agreed value policy...

the red plaid interior doesn't look original

In this crazy market, in 10 years that may look like a good price in retrospect. Personally, I hope he gets every penny, makes all of the good ones jump up another notch in the minds of those who have too much money.

No original plaid. No foglights ... 20 000 of restoration, !!! this car was in a bad shape.

Yes it does. My 75 had the same when I got it, and I know it was original.

Been up for sale before. Nice car, maybe not quite $29k, but still looks nice.

Looks original. May even have cost extra, but I think you got a free set of bagpipes with it.

Actually, $20,000 is not the much for a full resto from where I sit.

Up in the loft, all hot & sweaty, wishing you had a AC in your shop?

It's actually pretty nice in Mark's shop these days, I've been spending some time there.

Well...I hope he gets his price................

Less is more unless it involves increased 914 price tags and sex!!!

of course I do know that there was red plaid available in 75+76
but this car's interior doesn't look like the original one
compare the small photo from the samba ad with the bigger photo from the '76 marketing brochure - that's just not the same style
see the difference ??
for a $29k car I would expect correct interior ...
