914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 914 Google Custom Search Engine

Posted by: computers4kids Aug 5 2008, 11:11 AM

I created a Google "Custom Search Engine" that will only search the garage area (where info is located) of sites that we decide upon.
Currently I have the following sites included:
914world
914club
Narp
Pelican

If you have a site/forum that you would like added just PM or emal me the link and I'll add it.

Bookmark this site if you want to use it: http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=002408345898193228772:dqlpe8hbclg It's in my signature as well.

If anyone thinks this is a good idea, I will be glad to maintain it for the club or relinquish it to the Admins.
Mark

Mark,

I like the idea. What do you think about adding Roadglue forum and the 914 wiki as well?

I don't know if by "garage" you also mean the classics section here, but it would be a mistake to leave out that goldmine. Also, I would probably add the originality forum here as well.

Wow.

The all encompassing 914 search. Excellent. It could amost be used as a "view cross-posts" button with a little cut/paste. Perhaps it could be made a part of the advanced search here. Hmmm.....

Make sure our tech articles are included. Actually, you probably want to include our whole "info" section:

It would be nice to have the search engine linked somewhere visible where it's always readily available for club members...or anchor the thread.

Admins...interested???????

icon_bump.gif For those of you who are using this search engine, Andy said he was going to try to integrate this into the site somehow. If that doesn't fly, I guess you'll just have to bookmart it. popcorn[1].gif
