made of brass - fits perfect - everyone should have one. the blue stuff is just marker left on it from the fabrication process.

Sorry to burst your balloon, but Porsche sells those, as does practically every P-car aftermarket supplier. Steel, with wedge shaped pins. 911 423 205 03, lists for about 20 bucks. The Cap'n

I made one of these about 30 years ago, using a file and a hacksaw.. My wife and I were on vacation about 600 miles from home, cruising across central Florida after seeing Mickey Mouse. Then, all of a sudden at a stop light in some small town, the clutch on my 914 went out. I pushed the car to the side of the road, and looked under the car to easily see the problem- the broken plastic clutch cable pivot. Luckily, there was a hardware store near by. I bought a hack saw, some vice grip pliers, a file, and a "brass" pipe fitting of some sort. I cut and filed it until I got something that worked sufficently for us to drive the car the remainder of our vacation. It took about 2 hours, but finally it worked. JoeO

Polish that brass piece & spray it with clear lacquer to keep the shine. It will be a selling point when the time comes.
Manufacturing parts is fun. Good job.

When I broke a 9mm bolt for a front caliper I couldn't find one locally so I made one from a 10mm

I have one.i disagree. this is a "gotta have part because it's 11pm on saturday and the car absolutely has to get finished" fabricated solution. root, the man, milled it and finished the car.
