914World.com _ 914World Garage _ New engine but smokes at high altitudes

Posted by: garyfraze Aug 15 2008, 07:42 PM

I just had my 1.8 built to a 2.2. Engine runs GREAT at lower altitudes but when I get home and it sits overnight it will smoke a blue color for about 3 minutes when I drive it. It then clears up and all is well. Every morning is the same. BUT, if I take it down the hill it does not do this at all. I have checked the injectors for leaks and they are fine. I even by passed the cold start injector to see if it was leaking and pooling fuel in the manifold but it still smoked even by passed. Any have this problem?

Blue smoke could be oil. Is the engine broken in?
