914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Question on value of keeping/selling parts.

Posted by: fitsbain Sep 14 2008, 05:28 PM

I have 2 full front suspensions ( 4 lug), as well as another rack ( not counting the one on my car).

Should I keep em for some reason?

Are they worth anything to sell?

Should they go in the scap pile to make cash at the scrap yard?

What is a free turning, but not running 74 1.8 worth? Has coil problems, and a progressive that needs seals.

I got to get this stuff out of the garage so I can start working again.

keep the steering rack and rebuild it.
Sell/dump everything else.

When I said complete front suspensions, I meant with racks attached.

Right now also shocks, and rotars, and clipers, the whole shebang.

I say scrap it. Except for any pedal clusters or calipers. You can send those to Eric Shea as cores if you dont want them. I am sure he will pay shipping smile.gif

I sell alot of used products in my business and here's how look at what to keep. Look at your cost to store. Storage needs to be in a form that maintains the item in usable condition. In this case, metal rusting on the ground would not be substaining the items. If you have room to store the stuff and it has some value now, it will be worth more in the future.
Now when you run out of storage and need to make the decision on what to keep, you need to trash items with the least value now.
So in a round about way, I'm saying if you have room, keep it.
