914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Looking for a web sight

Posted by: Stitch Feb 5 2004, 10:11 AM

In 1997 I found a company in Tehachapi, Cal that offered a body
kit ( 940/s) , convertible tops and v8 convertions. I thought it was Reddog racing,
Does anyone know their sight address or if their still around?

Where is Tehachapi, CA?

Anybody around there remember a 914 conversion shop in the area?

Tehachapi sounds like a florida city, not CA. confused24.gif

Sounds like a Florida company? Why's that?

Hey! Cali's got Rancho Cucamunga!

never seen thier body kit's in person, I have a friend that has some of thier engine conversion parts on his car which seem to be decent

thier video is the worst waste of 20 minutes I have ever sat thru, might be fun to watch with some freinds and lots of beer beerchug.gif

i'm pretty sure its a company that does not keep anything in stock until you order (put down a 50% deposit and then they will start to make the parts)

I copied It from an old kit car magazine.
I have seen the video , and I have to agree, not very good.
The point is I wanted to see if they improved on the top.
The vents in the side on my car were put there so that I could possibly put a top on that would fold down above the engine.
I do think the name is red dawg.
It is in California.

A year or so ago when Brad had his shop in Palo Alto this guy showed up with a V8 conversion that had 993 body parts adapted to it from Red Dawg. I remember it being a work in progress! The thing that really got me was that they had moved the shifter back closer to the Fire wall and had a shifter that leaned foreward. It looked like it made it harder to shift. Oh, I almost forgot the Nascar wheels with dirt track tires burnout.gif
