914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How Big Are Yours?

Ok, so I really want to know will 16x7 work? Seems there are many more 16x7 than 16x6. So how big can you go with stock no molestation of the wheel wells?
My best current recommendation is 16x6 205x55

james

I have currently 205/45's on my 16x7 Fuchs. These fit great! I did try 205/55's but they would not fit under my stock rear quarter. I do have the lips rolled but not pulled. Interesting enought they fit the passenger side just barely. Drivers side they rubbed (typical stock 914 heh?).

Can't vote ... You don't offer rim width wider than 8 ...

Are those rears SC 7's? I only ask b/c I think my 951 8's will actually come out about the same distance as SC 7's

8" rims don't fit under the stock rear fenders, regardless of the offset.
You *will* have to pull the fenders quite a bit ...

17 X 7 on all four. 1/4" spacers in the back, 3/4" spacers in the front. Fender lips are rolled only as a precaution but would have just barely cleared. Also my drivers side is a tighter fit than the passengers side. 205/50 tires.

17x7 all the way around. 205/50 tire with 1" spacer on all four. Rolled the lip on the driver rear.

Going with 205/45/16 with 6 inch and 7 inch later fuchs. Slight highjack...anyone have a favorite tire in this size. I've been looking at the BF Goodrich sport with a Z rating. They sell for around $100 a tire.

I'm running stockers, but my fender gaps seem huge. I should probably go larger or lower the car.

I'm running 15x7" cookie cutters all around with 195/60's in the rear and 195/50's up front. I had to roll the rear fenders a tiny bit, but I have no clearance issues. Here are a couple pics. Thanks

You don't have a choice for 7.25".
Yes, they are 7.25x16" 3-piece BBS (weird pieces
I found that make a great offset).
215/40/16 Kumho V710's. With normal tires,
these with 34mm offset would probably fit with
no mods. I folded up my lip, but remember that
the '70 cars did not have the 'thinner' lip like all
the later ones.

Nice car and rims ! What size tires are up front? Did you have to do modifications up front for the wheels to be able to turn ?

Craig,
Too bad those wern't pollished Those 8's would fill in my front wheel wells just right. The 10's may be close in the rear, What's the offset on the 10's ?
So far I'm stuck with 16X8 and 16X7

picked up a set of Volvo wheels and tires, surprisingly they bolted right up.
and a slight fender pull with a simple roll of the lips
Glad you have the HP to use all that rubber. Maybe someday I will, but not for a long time.

A great combo if you've got the power to push 'em.
