914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Looking for torque specs

Posted by: Zaney Sep 23 2008, 10:16 AM

I have had poor luck with the search function in find a comprehensive list of the the torque specs for the front suspension.
I do not have a spec book or repair manual and the hanes is limited.

Perhaps the admins could post a complete torque spec listing for the entire car in the Classics forum?

Compile a list. It would make an excellent table for the technical article area.

I've always just gone with standard torque specs for the fastener size without any issues. The one exception and one possible exception are the pinch bolt that retains the ball joint in the strut, I have no idea because none of the cars that I've worked on in the last several years are pinch bolt, and the 3 allen head 10mm bolts on the top of the strut. Those 3 I just torque to tight as hell ft lbs with a 3/8" ratchet. They tend to move around on a track car sometimes especially if you're slamming curbs a lot.
