Saturday I got the doors and engine lid finished.
I decided to paint the hood and trunk in two steps.
I could have hung them, but the racks we have aren't
big enough. I'll just flip them over and paint the top
side one night this week.

I'm not sure about how to finish all the hinges for the
trunks. I know on standard is to paint them body color,
but I'm tempted to just do them in black. Anybody out
there seen this done before?

My vote would be for all pieces body color.

Body color. Black will make them look like an afterthought. Your car is gonna be too nice for that...

OK, body color is what I'll do. Tonight I begin the finish work on the shell. I want to paint the other side of the hood and trunk, but I ran out of clear. Maybe later in the week.

Factory did them half and half on the 356's and 911's. The section near the hood and trunk were body color and they brushed the section that stays below the channel black. The inside of the 911 doors were done the same way. If yoiyu ever see an ORIGIANL early 911 take a look at the inside leading edge of the door, you can still see brush strokes if it is original or re-done correctly smile.gif
