I backdated bumpers and have the "pilot" fog lamps, where do they attach?
I cant figure out how to mount them?
thanks
on the older cars there is a captured nut in the front wall.
You may need to drill holes and weld on a nut from the back side...not sure.
Rich
Yep- they bolt right up to the front "wall"/ bulkhead behind the bumper. I think you could through-bolt it (gasp) if you spray a little primer there first.
Matt if you do not have the factory captured nuts on the front wall. Let me know and I can supply you with some nuts and allen bolts.
CCLINMIXEDNUTS
This may help.

the pics definelty help, thanks, problem is I do not have that boss or those nuts on my car? My car is a 75, is it possible they actually changed the car stampings?
As for the nuts and bolts, YES, I can use them, I just need to figure out how to get to the backside of where the nut/ bolt would go, it looks like it is below the lights, can I access it from underneath?
thanks, matt
do you mean use a hole saw to cut sideways where the bumper shocks used to mount so I could get a nut backt here? ugh!
expandable insert! YES! thanks for the idea!! now I just need to figure out where to drill the hole, anyone able to make any measurements for me??
Hey,
Mount your bumber and grills with the lights in place behind and mark the mount area with a Sharpy. You may need to shim it with a washer or two , but you got it bro. Add some rubber "o" rings or cut up some rubber for shock asborbing in between
Steve
When I backdated my 76 bumpers, there was no mount for my Pilots either. I made my own using a nut plate which I attached with a pop rivet. It works well.
