I'm looking for people or businesses within driving distance say 45 mins. from an East/West route from the coasts. I'm in charge of putting together a map for the West Coast Classic. It will be part of the West Coast Classic Publicity web site.
I am marking the map with a push pin and flag showing the location of induviduals and businesses will to lend road side assistance to people traveling to and from the Classic.
Send me a PM with your info and I'll add it to the map. Here's a sample.
So if you know a wrecker driver that will give us a break of have a garage, spare parts, or tools, maybe hand off water as we caravan past that would be cool.

Rich, what route(s) are we talking about?
I 70, I 80, I 40, I 10, Did I miss any?
If anyone is traveling across country let us know your route and we'll see if we can find you a couple of look outs along the way.
Can someone nail this thing?
Carls Place is the best 914 shop in Las Vegas.
3043 Meade Ave. (702) 876-7982.
If anybody will be passing thru town I would love to join the caravan.
on what dates do we need businesses to lend assistance?
kevin
Anyone traveling I-44 to I-40, I'm in Tulsa. I'd love to jump in and travel with the caravan for a few hundred miles or so. We have a shop with most of the necessary tools and spare parts for repairs and such.
Carl is pretty damn close. It's Curt
a confirmed date AND location? you had better not be teasing me rich.
kevin- rich bought stickers too. have you?
Rich - check you map and our locations. I am in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vsg914 in in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Different people, different states.
Carl is a former 914 racer and currently is a Porsche repair shop owner. (He has been mentioned on several threads in the past) Renegade Hybrids is also located in Las Vegas. The owner is a member here. I don't want to speak out of turn and volunteer him, but I am sure he would help if asked.
If it works out that there is a concensus, I can envision a caravan of 914's growing as it goes across the country. Kinda like 'Smokey and the Bandit'. It would be worth a couple extra hundred miles to hook up and tag along.
I'm not a business, but I have a truck and trailer and a lift in the garage. I'd be happy to assist if necessary and I'm located about 5 miles north of Interstate 70 in Denver (just before you start heading uphill - LOL). But I'm flying out of town Friday morning. So if I help anyone, they'll have to be on there way by Thursday night or so.
Can someone nail this? I'm chasing it down the page.
I'm near I-10 in Beaumont, Texas. Not a biz. but Bro-in-law drives a wrecker and I got tools, etc. If any one rolls through Tejas on the 10 I'd be glad to join for a beer or dinner conversation, etc.
Thanks Eddie, PM me your address and the name and address of the Bro-in-laws Business and I'dd add it to the maps.
Ill help out... problem is Im on Long Island ... on the east coast... dont know if there are any other 914ers further east on the island than me, that are going..
And If any of the guys from New England are going.... if they find there way onto Long Island.... they are really lost LOL
I'm a little less than 20 miles south of I40, halfway between Memphis and Nashville. I've got an OK shop, and some extra room. Let me know if this helps.
PK
Send me a PM with your name, address, and what you have to offer and I'll put you on the map.
We could use a couple of more volenteers around the middle of the country. I have a few very well placed contacts. Remember to send an address. My maping soft ware keys off the address. also let me know what you have to offer.
Last call. I'm completing the maps by the middle of next week. I'm having this thread un-pinned soon. If you can offer a tow, a place to flop or anything to people traveling to the WCC send me a PM. include your address and state and what you are able to help with. I have a hole in the map at the top of Texas, Arizonia and up around DesMoine IA. I'd like to see filled.
After the maps are completed I'm having them attached to the WCC web site. You should be able to save and print them from there. Thanks to all who stepped up so far.
I will also have maps of the event and and Sponsoring Hotel location.
Rich,
Did I ever PM or email my contact info and map?
You have another guy for a caravan through Vegas. Maybe the AZ folks will meet us and we can pick up a few Socal folks on the way?
Chris
We are located in the Portland/Salem area, anyone traveling south can give us a call if they run into any problems. (503)551-6191.
I just happened to look at this thread. I'm in Oklahoma City, right off I-40. I can offer a few tools, a few brews and a guest bedroom. I have a P-garage for emergency work.
If there turns out to be a caravan, I'll definitely be down for escorting you west as far as.....hmmmm.
mobil: 405-615-9000.
Dang .....I just looked at this thread too! I am about an hour south of I-40 at Amarillo and about 45 minutes south of I-40 at Vega, Tx. I have 2 914's that aren't driveable right now, so I could offer 1.7l or 2.0l parts to get someone going if needed, also have a decent shop at work that could be used. Home # 806-647-3503 after around 6:00 pm. , or 806-647-3324 work from 7:30 am. to about 6:00 pm. Will try to do what ever I can if needed! David
Anybody coming up the CA coast, you can call John Larson at West Coast Garage, 805 925-1993. He's in Santa Maria, CA. You could call me, but I'll be in Aruba, or St. Martins, or some othe carribean place.
I live about 10 miles north of Santa Cruz and have a small stash of 914 parts - extra cables, belts, ignition parts, suspenion parts, etc. Would be happy to help anyone who has minor issue within 30 miles of my place.
I will be attending the event as well. Call me on my cell 408 242-0051 if you need any assistance
