Parts Porn!! drooley.gif

What it takes to make a 3.6 into a 4.0.

Now all I need is the new oil pump, the case to come back from the machine shop, and the crank to come back from the repair facility. Then I can start assembling the bottom end.

drooley.gif seriously hot. I need to go clean myself now blink.gif

Are the studs going to have enough bite once you bore the spiggots out far enough for those cylinders? Do you put case savers in or something to reinforce the case where the head studs screw in?

This is pretty cool... 4.0 should yield a nice streetable 350-375 hp if done right I would think.

Thats gonna be 60% more displacement and probably close to 100% more power than you presently have. I'll gladly take you up on an offer to drive your car at the next ramble. smile.gif

Hell no!

The main reason why i went with the 3.6L in the first place was so i did NOT have to open up the damn motor to get some reliable power.

Once you start fiddling with the internals, you jumped on the slippery slope, nose first ...

If my motor wasn't bone stock and never opened up, i wouldn't have bought it.

If i wanted to build an engine, i'd build a 3.0L T4 ...

Can't wait to see the finished (ridealong) motor. Can I come over and watch you build it wreath.gif ? Merry Christmas Bill

I rode with Clay at the RCR but declined his offer to let me drive the car.
His current engine is a 2.4L that makes about 180hp, IIRC.

Congrats.. The LN parts you have are truly amazing. I have never been disappointed with LN components and I bought the first set of cylinders ever sold to the public.

They work VERY WELL, just follow Charles' instructions explicitly and do not allow previous experience or other recommendations to impact your build.

Super awesome. Gotta share some Porsche purist love with you too. You could go the easy route with a SBC and save some $$... but that's not for everyone. beer.gif

I want to start working on the bottom end of this motor... but I don't have a crank!! mad.gif
