Gents,

apologies for the quality of these but I just scanned some pictures I took many years back when I had a go in the Factory 914-8 (the red one)

hope they are of a little interest.

I really appreciate you posting them. Very cool pictures. I love adding old scanned photos to the 'archive'. Those picture may have otherwise never reappeared.

I'd love to see how/if they did any heat in those two cars. I'd like to see how they did it on the 916's with MFI too.

Hold on Roman.....you 'had a go' in the 914-8???? Crikey. Great pictures, the only other pics I've seen are from D.Fagan and the Caught on camera book.
I thought I could see an Erberspacher heater in the front boot in the pics on the Pbase GT pictures

I see they didn't mind so much about having the oil tank in the engine compartment. Really nice to see these detailed pictures

Glad you guys like the pictures. piratenanner.gif

I was in the Porsche museum in 93 and was approached by a Gents who asked me if it was my yellow 914 outside, he told me that he was on the suspension design team and we had a quick chat. He then invited me to the 25th anniversary in rust near Stuttgart the following year. I then asked if I could sit in the 914-8 and possibly take some pictures of the engine. I then pushed my luck and asked if I could fire it up as there were no other people in the museum at the time, he grinned and brought the key, it started second time in a cloud of oil smoke but boy was it loud. Sadly 20 secs and it was all over, not even Pfizer to do anything about that. Glad you enjoyed the pictures I'll see if I have any others.

Older guy? Bald on top, and a little rotund? If so it was probably Jorg Austen, great guy!
