I'm thinking of getting a set of the Cocomats but want to make sure they'll look OK. I've seen some of the photos people have posted here in other threads. But I'm looking for some more to give me an idea of color/patterns on various carpet colors.

I used to have a pair just like that.
Prefer Loyds custom mats for a "perfect" fit.

http://www.cocomats.com/ I picked up a set from this vendor. Fantastic quality. He will send you samples too. I'll post a shot for you tomorrow. This sissal is also a nice style matt.

now if I could only find a source for bell bottom jeans...
Have to go with the custom for the 914's. He was saying the universal are too short to use in our cars.
Last 914 I had.

They were black in 1977, when I bought them!

I'm thinking of ordering a set of Coco Mats. This thread has some useful info. Cocomats.com now offers both short & long mats for the passenger side for a 914 (as discussed above).
I'm curious to hear from others who have the Long mats - the ones that wrap up against the firewall. Do they stay in place? Do you have any issues with the mats sliding or doubling over?
Thanks
Sorry for the crappy pic - I have the black with tan/gold dots in the speedster. I was going to replace them with the correct rubber floor coverings, but they are kind of growing on me.
I had a black set in my early GTI that I simply beat the cr@p out of (snow, dirt, etc). I was shocked at how well they always cleaned up. Other than some wear on the heel pad, they looked damn near new after close to 10 years of use.

Flip, they stay in place perfectly. No issues with them drooping or sagging over after 3 years. The one's sold at some of the large volume part places are not of the same quality. Spend the extra $20 or so and get pair that last a long time.
No flipping or flopping on the ones I bought from CocoMats. They are heavy and stay put. Plus they smell nice.
Get the long one, it is a nice fit and dosnt go anywhere
Just thought I'd toss this out there,
Gary Emory at: www.partsobsolete.com
has a nice selection of NOS. cocomats in stock for anyone wanting originals.

These mats are awesome...and do not move a bit. Well worth every penny. Only downside is you need a few exra horsepower--they are heavy.
I ordered Sisal mats in a brown color that I thought would match my (brown/mahogany) interior. IMHO, they look like they could be OEM. Very happy with the quality and fit.
Very nice Flip. Made a great choice.
So after much research and comparing on a few sites, I finally found something I'm happy with.
I got red with white dot Cocomats to match the paint on my car. Mats were custom fit and fit perfectly. Passenger side mat goes up a couple inches, not all the way up in the foot well where it can sag over. Mats have rubber spikes (or whatever you call them) on the bottom so they don't slide. Very happy with they way they look.
I'm coco for Cocomats!
So whose are they?
they're mine! you mean where i got them from? cocomats.com.
I had them in a daily driver for about a year. They ate the rear part of my right shoe. It looked like I used a wire brush on it.
These are mine from cocomats.com in their sisal material with black trim.
Those look very nice with the tan interior! Just a few shades lighter from the carpet, it gives a nice contrast to the interior.
I bought my pair from Garald at Hershey for $ 20. No brainer. I had some stains in the oem carpet so the mats worked perfectly.

Nice! And foot rest!
I haven't seen my cocoa mats since the car was delivered 38 years ago.
I might get a set of Hemp mats dude !
Love my new Cocoa mats, they are heavy but well made and do not slide around !
