914World.com _ 914World Garage _ North Bay drive on Sunday morning?

Posted by: jkeyzer Jan 30 2009, 06:03 PM

I was forwarded this e-mail, apparently it came from the local BMW 2002 list. Is anyone interested in following a few 2002's up to Pt. Reyes on Sunday?

-----

hey bay area folks -

a couple of us were talking and we thought that this Sunday the 1st
might be a good day to do a quick run up highway 1 to Point Reyes Station.
the weather has been awesome this week and mid 60's are expected.
(i hear that Mt. Tam has some new black top)

SF people -
meet at the Safeway in Diamond Heights at 9 for a 9:15 departure.
5290 Diamond Heights Blvd. 94131

Marin and others over the GG -
we can meet you in the big parking lot at Shoreline Hwy. - where you take a left to stay on the 1..... i think there is a grocery store there. ??
we should be there by 9:45....then on up the 1 to PRS.

PRS by 10:30 or so......grab a drink.....hang for a bit......then bring it on back to SF. you should be home by noon or so....plenty of time to run to the store for a six-pack and some grub if you are going to watch the game.

If that's your only reason for not going, call me when you get back from ZAP.

Got to be out of our old place by this weekend and tomorrow's our last full day to clean. Would love to do this, but I'm stuck with the 409 and 3M scrub pads.

For the guys who came, it was great to see you there.

For those who didn't - you guys missed out big time. The run was much larger than expected and included a bunch of guys from the California Melee. There were a LOT of interesting cars there - BMW 2002s, a Volvo P1800, a Tiger, a tiny Alfa-Romeo, a Mini, all sorts of great cars. It was epic.

Since you asked Joe!

We had a lot of fun on this run. It was great to swap stories with other marquees. The Morris Mini was a highlight, not to mention the great 2002s. Great fun on a beautiful Sunday morning!
