914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Best place to connect stereo?

Posted by: andy_zimm Feb 20 2004, 10:25 PM

Dudes:
Where is the best place to connect power and ground from my stereo, so it only can be tuned on when the key is turned?
Somewhere on the fuse block I'd guess, but where exactly?
Any ideas/help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy...

Check your car's fuse diagram....there should be one listed as "radio". Put a test lamp on it. Should be dead with ignition off, live when the key is turned.

Thanks Mike.
Fuse diagram? Is it in the operator's manual? I don't have one for my car and I can't find it in Haynes (unless you mean the wiring diagrams in the back). My fuse block cover is missing too.
I'll do some more digging tomorrow.

For a fuse block diagram, Check in the cars Owners manual (the one from Porsche). Its also probably on pelicanparts.com

Fuse number 8 or 9. Fuse #1 is the closest to the driver's door. You want to hook up on the forward side of the fuse.
