914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 914 ATE brakes

I am about to rebuild my calipers. My question is what does the numerical stamp mean on the side of the calipers. My original calipers( one says ATE 6, the other says ATE 7). Then I have a spare set with the numbers 3 and 8. Are these all interchangable or is there a difference???????

Casting numbers. Early car; or -6?

All interchangeable without issues.

Like you, I'm one of those guys that "just want to do it myself". Shit, calipers are not that complex.

I just got done doing a rebuild of a set of 911 rear "M" calipers and I've got to make the recommendation that you just send your calipers to Eric to be re-built.

The process of re-building the M's wasn't that bad, but getting the correct parts was true hell!! To this day, I can't believe it was such a pain.
