I just bought 7's for the front and I'm looking around for rims for the rear. What 8" 5 lug Fuch offset fits the rear of GT flared cars the best? The prices of the 9" rims has me running scared.
On my car I have the 15x8's with a spacer that is close to an inch to fill out the wells perfectly. I too am running scared of the price of 9s but they are sooooo sexy.
My 8's have 8Jx15 and 911.361.020.42 on the back with the 42 in a big box.
then under that there is AS10.62
I really don't know what numbers are important.
I can run these without spacers but they flare looks empty unless you use the spacer.
Hmm the standard 8x16 911 fuch had an offset in the 10-15mm range. I would figure the 8x15 would have the same offset range.
They will have a 911.xx.xx part number.
Tough part will be the limited tire selections... 225-50, 225-45 and maybe still a 245-50-15 were what I remember from a few years ago. Maybe its changed?
Forgot to add that the fronts I have are 16's. I'll need a 8x16's for the rear. Do all the 911 rims have the same offset?
Where can you even get tires for 15x9's? The widest, readily available 15 inch tire I have seen is a 225. At least in street tires.
Hoosier makes some. Purely track tires. But like I said I'm looking at 16's. My main concern is the difference between the 911 and 951 offset.
here is mine with 9eleben wheels, look fine to me Now all I need to do is rid myself of some 7"ers on the front aquire two more 8x15's through whatever means nessasary to give myself 2 sets of 8x15's for my track tires and then get a nice set of 16's for the street........tires are way easier to find!
I run 15x8 on all 4 corners w/225-50 for canyon carving and 16x7 on all corners w/225-55 for the freeways. Here's a picture of the 16's
That chart is fantastic!!!!!. That sucker needs to get nailed somewhere here.
I'm fitting 15x10's under the rear of my fiberglass GT flares.
race rubber section width of 11 inches. That is the absolute max and I got little rub marks to prove it.
Backspace is 5 3/4"
911 7 x 16 = 4-3/4" backspacing
951 7 x 16 = 4-3/4" backspacing
911 8 x 16 = 4-15/16" backspacing
951 8 x 16 = 5-1/4" backspacing
Those are the measurements I physically took (WHEW!)
I think I read that the tire will rub on the inner fender before it rubs the trailing arm. Is that because of the bushings flexing or the inner fender is the closest point? I believe I read the back of the inner fender well is the spot.
