got an altima red top, but haven't set it in yet. it's 5/8" taller. anyone have clearance issuses? i'm going to use side terminals.

Fits using top posts.
There are a few models of red top though (34, 34R 75/25, 34/78, 78).

If you have a problem getting it in the garage try putting the top down. I'm not sure why Nissan would make the red top any taller than the black one though

I think most use the optima 34R.

I got the battery at Costco, it came with the hold-down as well as some spacers. I used one on the backside to make a snug fit.

The battery hold down is avalible from Optima. Call and ask for the group 78 adapter.

i got it at costco too, it came w/ the spacers but no hold down... maybe it was misplaced, i'll check with them thanks

I recall my Optima came with a plastic cover as part of the retail packaging. The hold down and spacers were wedged in the plastic cover.

My Altima bit the dust a long time ago , but my Oltima batteries(Marne aplications) have worked great for over 4 years. Und heard of in this appplication. Restrictive to vibration and heat of Big diesles.
