914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Hard brake line size?

Posted by: Zaney Mar 31 2009, 01:20 PM

I am going to make some new hard brake lines for the Teener.

What is the OD of the stock lines we use? (5/16 or 3/8 or ?)

Are the couplings metric thread or standard for the flare connections.

Thanks in advance! beer.gif

They're metric bubble flare. You can buy them in several standard lengths, and the commonly available ones are made of easily bendable material. I don't recall the diameter, but it's like 5 or 6mm OD. The Cap'n

Napa Auto Parts carries several different types. Standard and more flexible. I dont recall what the more flexible is named. Here is a part number for a 12" length, standard flex..3/16 metric bubble flare... Napa part # 813-1261 You can find it on their website.

we bought the replacement kits from germany. Although one has to bend them the sets are complete and of the very proper length and cheap!

We buy it in bulk(roll) and make our own flares.

I can't recall the Diameter either.
