914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 4-lug wheel centerbore?

Posted by: TheMirror May 20 2009, 08:24 PM

Cheers all, just looking to confirm that the centerbore for all 70-76 4-lug hubs is 78.6 mm.....or was there a change somewhere along the line?

Thanks,

It's a matter of Hub-centric (late cars) vs Lug-centric (early cars). The actual hole in the wheel is the same for all factory alloys, but the later cars had a relief cast into the back side to fit over the hub-centric rotor design,

that's my take and I'm sticking to it.

Superb, that's exactly the info I need to know. Any idea when the rotor design changed? Was it late '72, or '73?

Thanks,
