The HE(all steel) that came with my car had welded sheet metal mounting ears. Is this factory installed HE design?
Attached Image I found this pic somewhere else. It has VW logo on it. Original? I've only known my teener since 2007. Hope someone can tell me.

Looks like the stock ears on my 76.

Both are OE. Left is early setups, right is late 1.8 (only?)
