I got the vin with my zoom! The car is located in Superior WI. I have been driving by it now for a couple years. I got the owners name and phone number today. It looks like it still has the engine in it. The turn signal switch is still on the column maybe a couple other things...

Nice work Rick, I think you can safely kill that one in the VIN registry. Even FourBlades isn't reviving that one! biggrin.gif

No sail/targa vinyl and not an LE.

I think my car is a true 75 no targa/sail vinyl car.

I have to get back under to look.

Yeah, all it needs is a little sanding ... maybe some POR15 and it'll be concours ready* in no time!

*for the 914 "Concours Ready" means painted jackstands

I am deeply troubled and truly surprised no one has suggested JB Weld. What's wrong? The cultists off today?

The Cap'n

Nope, JB Weld and fibreglass cloth will fix anything. Ya just beat me to it damnit!

Hope that eased your mind for a moment!

MarineTex is next on the list!

Hey Rick,
If they are parting that car out, I might be interested in the longs.

I bit of patience (Ok a lot of patience) and that's fixable. The car I just restored bent in 1/2 the opposite way to that when I put it on the bench. A lot of welding, a nice set of flares and you would never know it broke in 2...... welder.gif
BTW the rust on mine (sail panels and windshield) looked as bad as that too.

So much more convenient than JB Weld. Now we all know what to get the Cap'n for Christmas. tongue.gif

Posted by: kwales Aug 5 2009, 09:31 PM

All that car needs is a quick wipe with a ShamWow and it will look better than new!

Well, except for the small amount of JB weld that is needed.... happy11.gif

My first car was from SoCal. This one from Ottawa area......there is a difference, and not a good one either.
The good part is I saved an otherwise scrap car from the bone yard.

This one (another Canadian car) just could not be saved.

What are you talking about? That looks like a cherry east coast car!

Plus you can conveniently transport it in two separate pieces.........

Looks better then mine

Posted by: nsr-jamie Aug 7 2009, 08:43 AM

other than the part of it bent or folded in half its not that bad and I am being serious...the front of the car looks good, that would make a nice parts car, I wonder if its got a 2 or 1,8 in there. Looks to be a 74 model to me
