914World.com _ 914World Garage _ OT - Shipping heavy packages

Posted by: ahdoman Sep 3 2009, 08:42 PM

I tried the search but it doesn't seem to like me. It just keeps brining up all of the threads in the garage and I know this has been discussed before but; I have a heavy package (not large, just heavy; 45lbs). Any ideas on who to ship with that's reasonable? I know Greyhound is cheap but there isn't a terminal near me. USPS, UPS & FedEx are all around $50.

What are the dimensions of the package? USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail is the way to go. They even give you the box to ship it in. 12 x 12 x 5-1/2 is $13.95 anywhere in the US including Hawaii and Alaska. Weight doesn't matter as long as it isn't heavier than 70 lbs.

Yep, flat rate if it will fit on one of the flat rate boxes. Great option.

If not, then its time to bleed that stone.

Yeah, box is 18 x 10 x 12 and tightly packed at that.

Well, if you want to save $ you need to drive into downtown LA to use the dog..other wise pay some one for their efforts - ie UPS / FDX...No free lunch yet:)
