I have a bent exhaust valve # EL VW 021 109 612.(number on the valve stem)
I see on Pelican and Mark's Air Cooled I can get a 022-109-612D valve as a replacement in my 72 1.7.
Is there a difference?

According to PP sales site, only the 2.0 L valves are sodium filled. Anyone know more about this?http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/9144/POR_9144_cylhds_pg1.htm

Yes, mostly. There were evidently 1.8 exhaust valves that were also sodium-filled, but they were pretty rare and I'm told were sold as upgraded replacement parts only.

But the 2.0 914s were the only 914s that had sodium-filled exhaust valves from the factory, every car.

Well I don't know if they are sodium filled but they do have a 9mm valve stem. I thought all the 9mm stem valves were sodium filled. confused24.gif

022 109 612D has 9mm stems, got one in my hand right now. Doug (Tracks914) will be happy.
