1970 Porsche 914 -$7,500
#4702900610
Back up for sale...
I am looking to sell my '70 Porsche 914 that I purchased in 2007 from Chogokin off of 914world.com. I have converted the car from the original 1.7 liter motor to a Subaru 2.2 liter motor with turbo as well as added a full aluminum radiator/fan setup. The conversion was performed with products from Renegade Hybrids, http://www.renegadehybrids.com/, including the Subaru Conversion Kit and their Complete Cooling System. Since conversion completion approximately 15k miles have been driven. The car drives and rides great!
The car was repainted in 2009, and is painted a 1975 original Porsche color, Palma Green Metallic.
The car has 916 style fiberglass front and rear bumpers. The rear bumper has been fiber glassed to the body. Front bumper could use a respray.
No heat and no air conditioning. All new shifter bushings from the shifter to the trans. New front and rear brake rotors (not installed, but included with sale), new rubber and hard brake lines, new transmission mounts, new oil pan with welded oil drain, new intercooler and revised intercooler piping, new rear European style front side markers and rear taillights, new engine thermostat, headgaskets, head bolts, and timing belt.

Thanks for looking!
i expected lots of comments - since there are none - i will be the first. while i am not a fan of 916 bumpers and few are fans of kyb shocks - i like this car a lot : )
is that a renegade cradle in there? wanted to clarify. while not a fan of leaks : ) gotta love turbo, though bypassing coolant sensors probably not the best idea and should be corrected so ecu gets the signals it needs. good luck with the sale! jim
I have never been a fan really of the bumpers either. I had always planned to change back to steel.
It is the Renegade cradle and radiator kit, along with the other parts that come with their Basic Subaru Conversion.
As far a the Idle Air Control Valve, the coolant lines have been replaced and reconnected. I had a leak in one of the lines a while ago and had to reroute them to ensure a closed loop cooling system. The throttle body bypass is a pretty standard practice for Subarus in areas where you dont need to worry about the throttle body freezing up.
Thanks for the comment either way!
Saw this for sale on CL, beautiful!
Thanks for for the kind words!!
bump for a price drop.... $7,200
is that 132 hp with turbo - or prior to instal of turbo?
again, good luck with sale.
renegade cooling system is $1000+-, conversion stuff $2000+-, suby engine and turbo goodies $1500+- (guess) - that is already $4500+- in stuff.
That is post turbo, measured at the wheels. For reference a stock Subaru STI makes 196 HP to the wheels on the same dyno.
Thanks again!
bump for a price drop... open to any offers also.
The car looks great, does the stock shift linkage still fit on this car?
bump it up... still for sale.
And YouTube videos link added for some walk-arounds and a few quick driving videos...
a curiosity bump : )
at what rpm does the turbo kick in?
i assume an originally non turbo engine can handle up to 7psi - all day long?
thanks
jim
Such a nice car!
I have a new affinity and appreciation for water pumping teeners.
Love that paint!
Bump... Still for sale, I have been reworking a few things on the motor to clean things up and simplify the turbo routing. Swapping from air to air intercooler to an air to water setup.
Suprized this has not sold. It's like the only Subaru conversion for sale on the net.
has the car sold yet?
You meen off the market?
Car is back up for sale. Looking to move on to a new project.

Always open to reasonable offers.

Bump.
Lots of additional pictures added. Let me know if you want to see anything specific.
Sure looks like those outer long panels are riveted on.
What's hiding underneath?
Not sure of the rivets, originally bought the car off of Chogokin on here and I know he said there was some rust repair in the hell hole area. Either way, they are solid and fully welded.
Sale pending payment.
