Truly amazing car. I hope you get your asking price; that car is a 10/10.

Posted by: HPuck35 Mar 6 2013, 06:52 PM

Great looking car. Wish I could spare the money.

I had a 74 1.8L for a long time that looked to be the exact same color. The paint color of mine, if I remember right, was called "Rainbow Green".

Good luck with the sale. driving.gif

Posted by: 914runnow Mar 6 2013, 09:35 PM

Welllllll your car IS nicer and more original than
the 74 in the Porsche Museum.....
I have 31 thou in my 73 2.0..
(full doc's BTW)
and still need the 6 to 7 thou paint job...
Most of the 'main parts' for 914z
are now unobtainium..sooooo your asking price
is reasonable.....
hopefulllllly this will not go back to Europe and stay here stateside...
second owner is a HUGE Plus!!!!
and all documentation too.... but the pics speak for themselves..
and I know full well about the AA final pcs of the OEM Carpet...
that stuff sold by the ounce...but got what I needed...
the tyres and rims had to be a bootyshake.gif load of money...
and the patience/time required is a huge effort....
sorry to say this....should go on e/Vil bay....for more
exposure.....although the low mile'rz seem to go here.....
do you have a walk around video on it??

Posted by: NJ914Guy Mar 6 2013, 10:23 PM

Another great example Todd. Good luck with the sale.

LOL! You got that right Scotti. Might as well take it to the nearest port Tod.

Gorgeous car BTW. You really finished it nice. It's the last 10 "points" on the score sheet that are the hardest.

Maybe put it in Excellence, PCA's Panorama, & Hemmings Sports & Exotics for more USA collector exposure too Tod?

Good Luck! beerchug.gif

Hi Todd

Beautiful "orig. paint" 914 and worth every penny your asking. Original cars are rare and worth more $$ bucks. Rare paint color too. smilie_pokal.gif You can take this car to PCA Parade and win a trophy over big bucks $$ cars. pray.gif

This car should be sold already, Todd. If I did not already spend my 914 money to buy another car, I would have been picking up this vehicle off of you this weekend in NJ. Problem is that I also have no more garage space available beerchug.gif

Maybe Sunday, Tod. I think the kids and my wife have some 'girls day' plans. If time permits I'll PM you and swing by. You're only about 25 minutes away as I recall.

...PM me too if your stopping by. I'll probably be at work, close by. I'd love to stop by too and get some 914 time.

"John had the factory Fuch alloys swapped out for steel wheels at the time of purchase." That is very unusual. It is usually the other way around.

Awesome Car! beerchug.gif

Do tell Tod...I last saw it at about $30K, I am thinking Froggy pushed the bar for 914/4s upwards. Imagine that - with steel wheels even....

Pulled the auction and pending payment now. Quite a few interested parties to say the least. One guy I spoke with was ready to hit the buy now price, but I already pulled the auction. He'll be next in line if the deal falls through. Guess our teeners are really becoming collectables. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all the possitive comments.

Hi Todd,

Wow, so happy for you. Congratulations on the sale & price smilie_pokal.gif

Eric - according to Hagerty's info for top tier 73 914-2.0's, it's right up there in the zone, and certainly helps move 914 values back to pre-recession/pre-crash values.

However, most 914s are not this nice, original & low miles! smile.gif

See here -
http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vc=879762

It'll be interesting in a couple of months, to see if this sale and some other recent top tier 914-2.0 sales move the green line up a few ticks!? shades.gif

Thanks guys. Waiting on a payment, but our agreement is for 38K for the car, a set mahles, nos caps, lugs, and a bunch of spare parts. The car should be leaving for it's new home in CT this weekend. So the 914 contingent of Zone 1 still has it's frog mascot. I think the new owner will be showing it at the Greenwich CT Concours this year. Great show btw. The gentleman from Florida offered the 39.5k price after I already made other arrangements. As tempting as it was, I went the ethical route. I told him I'll let him know by Thursday if anything changes.
That's fantastic! Thanks Tod and grats on the sale.

Posted by: sda4property@gmail.com Mar 18 2013, 11:50 AM

Wow....38K...Sick...!
The 914 is back,
Based on the recent sales we have seen on this site.
I wish I still had the other cars I sold through-out the years.

Now is the time,
To own the "Right" 914.

Tod, hope you remembered to remove the NJ QQ tags (still on the car on trailer in the pic). You know that our great State of NJ wants them back or face a fine.

An absolutely amazing car Tod! It looks as though I just picked it up new from the dealership in 1974. Your work on the car is nothing short of stellar. The entire 914 community is lucky to have you. Now, just one more to go -- '73 or '74 2.0 in Zambezi green.

No worries Chuck, I'll have Tod's plates in the mail tomorrow back to NJ. Best, Krist

Congrats on the sale!

I did the prepurchase inspection for you while the car was still in Bethel Park. Nice to see that it worked out for you.

Posted by: NJ914Guy Mar 25 2013, 05:58 PM

Good luck, Krist. She's a beauty. Be sure to enjoy her.

Bud, yes definitely remember you. Thanks again for the assistance. My intend was to keep the car, but passing it along to another good owner seems like the right thing to do at this point to me. How's your 914 progressing? Recall you mentioned you were in the middle of restoration when we last spoke.

Very slow..... life got in the way. The car was in one piece until my helper showed up.... now it's in 400+ pieces but we expect to get the engine back together this year. Then I can focus on the body.
