Sold

Porsche 914 2.0 S/N 4742913488 Olympic blue, 65,000 mile, excellent, rust free condition. Very good quality repaint of the original color. New bumper tops, excellent interior, no major accident damage. The fuel injected engine received a “stock performance” rebuild with new, original Mahle European pistons and cylinders, Raby FI cam and lifters new German K&S bearings on a std/std crankshaft. Heads completely rebuilt, new stainless valves and new springs by Tuttle’s Parts Exchange. Carefully assembled in my shop, this engine runs strong, no drips. Like new SSI stainless heat exchangers and Bursch muffler. Weltmeister 19mm adjustable front sway bar, new wheel bearings, turbo tie rods and ball joints. Transaxle, clutch and shift linkage all work smoothly and properly. Brakes excellent. Dunlop Direzza Sport 195/55 tires on genuine Fuchs rims. Sony CD with memory stick slot and Blaupunkt speakers. All major work, including engine, done within the last 5000 miles. This is an excellent looking, running and driving 914, needs nothing to enjoy. $15,900. I certainly didn't think we would need to lower the price on this exceptional car but, now $14,900.

Nice Car !!!

Posted by: deputydog95 Aug 8 2014, 05:43 AM

Is the mileage total on the car, or total on the engine?

This car should long since be sold.

The engine rebuild rebuild was in 2010. Less than 4000 miles ago.

I wish it was a different color. That is the main thing that's holding me up. The paint looks great though!

Olympic Blue is one of the best 914 colors IMHO. If I did not just drop almost a $100k on a new Macan Turbo I would be all over this car. A great deal for somebody.

$100k on a macan? Ouch. Who talked aka bamboozled
you into that? smile.gif

This is not a "restored" ragged old 914. It has been cared for since new. The clutch shudders occasionally on take off but there is no other function of driving that is other than excellent. It can be driven without concern anywhere and is priced very reasonably. Brad

Another TTT for your car for sale Brad. As for the Macan, it's a Turbo and it's highly optioned :-)

Hi Brad,

Here is a curious question. Your ad states the VIN as: 4742913488. The door jamb sticker clearly states the VIN to be: 4742931488 (01-74). A build date of 1/74 is closer to the listed VIN of 4742913488, not the door jamb sticker showing 4742931488. Did Porsche transpose a few numbers in the door jamb sticker?

I just looked on P914.com and the last 74 VIN was 4742921370. That makes this car a real anomaly.

Very nice car. I am looking for a late 80's 911 Carrera. But I am very tempted to get another 914 again.

Posted by: tom9146 Aug 25 2014, 06:37 PM

If I had the cash I would buy this car Today !

Posted by: Jett Aug 25 2014, 11:08 PM

Wondering if anyone answered the transposition question? I have two numbers in position 7,8 that are transposed on the door sticker. Given my 2.0 is all original, I've always assumed it was a byproduct of the 70's smoke.gif

Just for the record - I bought this car today and am comfortable attributing the door jam VIN to a factory mistake - but I'm open to other explanations. The other VINs all match each other....

Congrats! Looks to me like this car is worth that and more. Surprised it did not bring a higher price.

You guys realize the original ad from 914ltd was from 2014, right?
Doubt this most recent buyer got it for that cheap.

Well damn....had not not noticed that! In light of that....sort of an odd post but congrats to the new owner

I can say it wasn't 14.9 this time around but it is a VERY solid car and I'm very happy with it. A few small things to get in line but it's a great 914!

Yea, but us midrusterners are stealing 914's from California almost daily!
And the only way you can stop it is put up a fence on your eastern border. biggrin.gif

Well - I live in LA but have family in Indiana and that's where this 914 will live - it may even find it's way back through your shop, Brad since we make the run to eastern Iowa as well - which runs right through Peoria.

I'll say, I'm VERY happy with this car and the care and excellent work that Brad did on it years ago still shows.
