914World.com _ FS/WANTED: 914 Cars and Rollers _ Potential Creamsicle LE for sale in Brooklyn

Posted by: era vulgaris Sep 13 2014, 08:03 AM

I was scanning Craigslist for 914s and came across this. Seller doesn't list a VIN, but says the car was an original Creamsicle LE.

I know some of you guys are always hunting for LE's, so I thought I'd throw it out there for you guys that are experts to find out if this is legit or not.

Don't really know unless you have vin..

Yeah, I was just throwing it out there for someone interested in LE's who would want to contact the seller and find out if it's legit. I've got no horse in this race, just putting it out there.

It would appear that VIN, if it is the same car, is in Jeff Bowlsby's registry, although it hasn't yet been COA certified

Check the passenger door gap.

The driver door gap looks about the same confused24.gif

It almost looks like there's those clip-on guard thingies on the end of the door so if you swing the door open into something it won't damage the edge of the door.
Look closely at the photo of the passenger door.
The "gap" suddenly gets significantly wider about 1/2" or so under the scallop for the door handle.

Just a guess though confused24.gif

Good catch. Looking again I think you are right. You can almost see the top edge of the ding guard thingy. Ignore my previous comment unsure.gif
