914World.com _ FS/WANTED: 914 Cars and Rollers _ FS '70 914-6 (Pelican)

Posted by: Cairo94507 Oct 12 2014, 07:33 AM

I came across this on the bird site and it appears to be a terrific example of a 914-6 at an extremely good price. I know nothing about the car or owner; just posting it here to spread the word:

I think it looks like a very good deal, and should sell quickly !

Nice car !

The first person to see that car in person will buy it. That's the "one that I allowed to get away" from me back in 2002. Used to be owned by my good friend "Bob D.". I won't even tell you the low price he offered it to me for headbang.gif icon8.gif barf.gif. Bob's cars are always nearly perfect when he's done with them. It was not only appraised by, but rumored to have been serviced by Bruce Anderson's shop in the 1970's. Brad also spent a great deal of time tweaking it to perfection. The engine is the original 2.0 with 2.7 pistons in it. The tail shifter trans was available IIRC. Brad's note is perfect. Best example of a 914-6 I've ever experienced in person.

who is Bob D. Do you know how to contact him?

Posted by: Chris H. Oct 17 2014, 03:58 PM

PM me. FYI Bob does not own the car any more. He sold it to the person who owns it now back in 2002. I do not know the current owner at all. The car (from what I hear) is in the same condition as it was back then.

Every 914-6, he comments is "the best"
Maybe he works for a dealer, who must talk up the prices? lol-2.gif

A lot of these cars we saw here in the last months are far away from 100% perfect collector conditions and from that current askingprice levels.

No I think he bought this one. It was a great deal @ $56k if it's still in the same shape as it was last time I saw it. Bob did a fine job taking it to the next level.
