Beautiful car! Is the color original or did it have a repaint/color change? Any evidence of accident damage? That is one nice car. GLWTS but you won't need it- that should go fast.

agree.gif under priced based on description and photos. Very nice job describing, looks like you will have a happy buyer soon:) If this is the original color, it's probably worth $18,500+ , (dare I say $20,000?) After all it is a '73 2.0l FI, the most valuable -4 and with te prices going up I believe it is a solid $20,000 car.

Handbrake must not work with the brick under the rear tire.

more detailed info of the car? How does it run? What else needs to be done mechanically, electrically, cosmetically?

Posted by: era vulgaris Mar 1 2015, 07:31 PM

You should probably contact John via the contact info on Black Forest Racing's website if you have questions. I don't think he hangs out on the World.
I've got no horse in this race, but I've been to BFR and met John. He's a busy guy.

I've seen the car. It is nice. Runs well. Pretty solid car. I know he had some interest in it. But, I don't know if it is sold or not. Call the OP, John, at Black Forest Racing if you want more info.

Posted by: gfg3 Mar 2 2015, 06:08 AM

I saw this car at John's shop several weeks ago as he was finishing up some of the details. Very nice car! John is very busy between his own 914 racing program, building 914/911 racing motors for others and general restoration work, so don't worry too much about his lack of response to his posting. If you're interested give him a call at Black Forest Racing. I'll be calling him later this week on another matter and I'll ask him about status of the car.

The car is sold.

Posted by: JohnBFR Mar 2 2015, 01:20 PM

So sorry for such a late response. This forum confuses me as the replies don't automatically show up at the bottom I have to click what looks like links. We have been very busy in this shop with cars going home to their owners including a race car headed back to Mexico. This car has been sold, there is a video of it running, more in depth walk around of interior and exterior as well as it running down the road. So I assure you this is for real and I hate to see it go. Thanks for the interest everyone!

These photos were from the restoration process and not completely finished (about 2 months ago) We have have such terrible weather we haven't wanted to take it out for new photos until 2 weeks ago when we did a photo and video shoot but the car is now sold anyhow. Thanks smile.gif

It sounds like you're viewing the forum in outline mode. Go to the top right corner of the thread's first post (your original post) and click where it says "options". A drop down menu should appear. Switch the display to "standard", and now it'll look like a normal forum.

Is that original color?

Posted by: billcahill Mar 8 2015, 05:19 PM

I just found this site and saw this car. I have a porsche 912, but looking for a 914. wish this car was still available.
