This is a 1974 Porsche 914. The owner bought this car about a year ago with the intention of doing a ground up restoration, and because of its' nice condition already, it is a great candidate. You can certainly find other 914's, but this one provides a good foundation for restoration if desired, or as very nice driver. It is a well sorted car that has had tons of money spent on it already. You won't be disappointed either way. The problem he has is he found a 914/6 that he is currently painstakingly restoring instead. He has come to the conclusion that he doesn't need both cars. Anyway, the mileage shows 1077, which obviously means that the odometer has turned over. Based on its condition, we believe that the actual mileage on the car is 101077. Note: we don't have any documentation to this effect, nor do we have any information from the previous owner, but the interior and car overall are in very good shape. The hell holes have surface rust, but appear to be solid. The longs are intact as well, including the floor pans. The dash is original and in very good condition. The only crack is from the upper right portion of the ashtray opening, and extends upward about 1/2 inch. The jack is original as well as the rear trunk carpet. There is a cheap am/fm cd/mp3 player with speakers mounted in the doors. The stereo doesn't work though. This was installed before the car was bought.

The car has air conditioning, however, the compressor had already been removed when bought. The other components are present though. The car has its original front and rear California blue license plates. This was a big selling point when bought. The registration was just paid, and is good until December of 2015. When he bought the car it had a 1.8 liter engine. I have since replaced that with a strong running original 914 2.0 liter engine with dual carbs. This includes the 2.0 liter heat exchangers and smooth, side shifting five speed transmission. Although the car is a 1.8, the previous owner had the fully functional 2.0 liter center console installed, as well as the 2.0 liter wheels. These wheels are original, straight and the Dunlop tires have plenty of wear left on them. The car has had one re-paint in the original ivory white color. This was done prior to purchase. The paint job is decent, and the body is straight. We don't see any evidence of prior collision damage. Only the outside of the car was painted. The door jambs, trunks, underside and interior are original paint. Everything on the car that should work, does. This includes the headlights, heater, instrumentation, fasten seat belt light and warning buzzer. Since buying the car the owner has spent about $10,000 dollars in labor and the engine upgrade. There are small projects that the car could use: replacing some seals, detailing, etc, but that is what makes this car attractive and fun. The mechanicals are very good and you can still fiddle with it. This was before he found the 914/6. The money spent on this car was a lesson in how to learn things the hard expensive way, and this 914 was no exception. His loss is your gain. I encourage anyone interested in the car to view and or drive it personally so there are no regrets. I will do my best to accommodate any requests or questions. We can help with shipping for European buyers too. Car is in SoCal. $12,500 Contact # is (949) 370-8117 Thank You.

This is a very nice car and a real bargain after the owner spent a lot of money with this car. I was able to drive it a few months ago. I'm sure next owner will enjoy it!

Wow that is quick Lawrence! I'm sure Jim was so sad selling it but he will be happy when he got his 914-6 project finish!

This car is SOLD.

As I had predicted. Nice car for that price, IMO, a good deal.
