914World.com _ FS/WANTED: 914 Cars and Rollers _ FS 914 Porsche 2.0 Single Owner $12,500.00 Negotiable

Posted by: gventura7 Feb 20 2017, 04:53 PM

I am selling my 1974 Porsche 2.0. I am the original owner and it has been a great car for me but it needs to be driven more often. It is a 5 speed manual transmission with the original body and original interior. It has been repainted with the original Delphi Green metallic paint for the 1974 Porsche. The exterior is in good condition.
1. The bumpers are in good condition.
2. The Floor pans are original.
3. The car has the original jack, tool kit, and owner’s manual.
4. The interior is original and in good condition.
5. No cracks on the dash.
6. The radio and the air-conditioning are not functioning.
7. There is no damage on the seats.
8. All gauges work with the exception of the clock.
9. The fuel injection works perfectly and starts right up.
10. This 914 drives and handles like it should.
What does this Porsche need? Not much. The Jack Point on the driver's side is rusted and needs to be replaced, the Seal Panels need to be restored and minor rust on the wheel wells and on area under battery. These are minor issues that any 1974 vehicle would have. I have the receipts for all of the repairs for the last 5-6 years. It recently had a major tune-up from being idle too long.

This is almost the exact car I bought in 2003 in 1.8 form. Blew that up and put in a 2.0!
This I am very interested in;

My favorite part of the original post:

"What does this Porsche need? Not much. The Jack Point on the driver's side is rusted and needs to be replaced, the Seal Panels need to be restored and minor rust on the wheel wells and on area under battery. These are minor issues that any 1974 vehicle would have."

And now in the Ebay auction we can see some of these "minor" issues, yikes!

914 World,
I bought the car sight unseen from the original owners in Florida based on the pictures and the description. Needless to say I was not pleased with the condition of the rust and I am selling it. I have taken actual photos of the damage and rust. I hope this clears things up. The car is located in California now.

Thanks,
Brad

So is this an ad for a sale or not? What does the current owner want for it? Brad, the rules here are that you have to list a price. But this isn't even your thread. Weird. Care to let us know?

That is a fairly honest and MASSIVE red flag for a 914 purchase, IMO.

It's on Ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Porsche-914-914-2-0-/142308114024?hash=item2122397e68:g:~MUAAOSwuxFYwtV9&vxp=mtr

There's another thread where someone was asking about the car on ebay and I linked to this thread figuring it might provide some info. Seller responded to both threads with the same statement.

I apologize if I was not clear. I never listed this car on this site, however I did buy it off this site.

I purchased this car from Gventura7(the original owners and the one who posted this car on this site). Since I live in California I purchased the car sight unseen based on the pictures and the description from the original owner.

However, upon getting the car I was rather disappointed with the rust that was underneath the car. I made the decision to list this car on ebay with NO RESERVE so it will sell to the high bidder.

I want to be as transparent as I can with this car. I am the owner, the car is located in California and is only for sale on ebay @ a no reserve auction.

I hope this helps

Thanks,
Brad
