Very Very strange as the seller didn't have any reserve. Also, shortly after the winning bidder I saw an ad in VA Beach for the same car at a 27,500 price tag. Then the ebay relisting a few days later. I thought someone local bought it and was trying to flip it.

Posted by: GeorgeM Jun 21 2017, 09:15 AM

Anyone here checked it out?

I'm in Va Beach, so only 2 hours away.

I had an LE when I was in high school, would love to have one again, but I suspect this "light restoration" won't end up being so light.

Posted by: nditiz1 Jun 21 2017, 12:19 PM

Good luck with the price I bet the reserve is $27k same as the sellers craigslist ad

Posted by: 87m491 Jun 21 2017, 02:49 PM

$27K is a laugh. Only rebid to $9,100. Seems to have acquired some bad juju.

Is it still for sale?

Posted by: scallyk9 Jun 21 2017, 10:09 PM

Very interesting. It got bid to $17,500.00 last time on eBay. eBay called it "sold" and then it popped back on.

Posted by: 87m491 Jun 22 2017, 10:14 AM

The seller would know!

"I speak German, French & English call any time (424)234-0048"

I asked the seller a question on ebay. I'm about 1.5 hours away and was willing to inspect it in person but got no response.

I emailed him after the auction ended res not met and he said it was sold. He responded fairly quickly.

No reserve again so maybe it will finally sell. I think the first time it had no reserve it ended at ~17k. I was actually corresponding back and fourth with the seller via email. He said he had another 914 in CA for sale in his warehouse - decent 75 2.0 he said. I kept asking for pics and they never came. The seller is a real flake.

Apparently now sold for $14,100.....or until it lists again with the same seller.

Check out the bid history. Looks like the same bidder running his own price up. This can't be legit. confused24.gif

Click on "show automatic bids" and you'll notice one bidder had a bid of $14000 while another bidder kept bidding in $600 increments until reaching $14100.

I've talked to the guy. Seems eccentric. I'm in MA...thinking about purchasing but I can't get down to VA to look st it. Can anyone local see it? I'd totally pay someone to check it out!

Posted by: lostreasure Oct 17 2017, 02:23 PM

WARNING! Google the VIN of this LE and there is some scary history-Motor may be blown,Rust holes throughout- It was sold in 2010 for $1500

Posted by: 914 7T3 Oct 17 2017, 07:07 PM

Car has sold for the new $13,995 Buy it Now Price.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Porsche-914-Can-Am-/182823058533?hash=item2a911a7c65%3Ag%3ApuIAAOSwTFNZd4GT&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=MoJ7vxJaQXpdXjOdjvdNsbpIRRY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

But no need to worry about that as the same seller has relisted it and bidding is at $9,600. Nothing odd about that, right?

I guess this is why Ebay has no Credibility and Bring a Trailer has such awesome legit cars available everyday.

MA914er, I have met with this guy and seen some of his cars. He's local to me. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further, happy to help if I can.

David
