Selling my 1974 Porsche 914. This has been my daily driver (40+ miles a day) for about five years. I'm only selling it because I found another Porsche I want more. Price lowered to $8500. SOLD
This car is ready to enjoy this summer, it's not a project or show queen. Please let your friends know if they are looking for a turn-key 914.
This car starts, runs, shifts, handles and stops well. The engine is a 1.7L, which has more power than the original 1.8. Engine was rebuilt four years ago with new pistons and cylinders (machine work and cylinder heads by Jay Robison- he did all of Harry Pellow's 356 machining). The original D-Jet fuel injection is intact. All the structural rust (hell hole, longs, battery tray) has been cut out and repaired correctly. Floors and rear trunk are solid with no repairs. Transmission shifts well (if you speed shift you can beat the synchros, though). Light Ivory paint (the original color) is 10 footer with minor dings and scratches. Bumpers have had rubber guards removed for backdated look. New carpet kit and upholstery. Front end completely rebuilt with new struts, torsion bar bushings, ball joints, Turbo tie rods and four wheel alignment. Lights/horn/electrics/gauges/heater/fresh air fan etc. all work.
I have a clean California title in my name, with current registration to July 2019. More photos available by email. Car is in San Jose, CA.
I don't think this 914 is nice enough to ship across the country, I am really hoping for a local sale. That said, here are some pictures to head off the usual requests to see the longs and hell hole
Looks like a great starter 914!
Bump with lower price!
Looks like this was a great buy !
New owner drove just drove off! Hopefully it will be seen often in the San Mateo, CA area.
