Sixnotfour Yes, when it came out of Greg's shop it was a very nice conversion BUT previous owners and myself have taken it to the next level. I went through the receipts when preparing my fs ad and WOW, BIG $$$$ thrown at this 914/6 over the years. Literally $101,000 in my receipt records. It's not perfect but at my fs price, it's a lot of 914 for the money.

I would have saved a ton of $ if I bought this car... blink.gif

Unfortunately I was only 2nd up. I’m practically heartbroken. I will never forget this car as THE one that got away. If the new owner ever wants to sell it, PLEASE get in touch with me! Apparently he lives in Atlanta and no, it’s reportedly not G.H. Of A.A.

If anyone ever has something like this to sell, I am interested.

Wasn't Bobby selling this for 39,900? You should offer the seller a penny more happy11.gif

Thanks for letting me know! Doesn’t seem to be on EBay any more though. Certainly not the deal it was at $20k more!

Look under Ebay #323886167646

Posted by: EdwardBlume Aug 17 2019, 10:06 AM

Bummer. Still worth $60k IMHO.

Listed on the Samba...

Flipper, flipper....trying to get a quick $20k in less than 2 weeks.

Shame to sell a car to someone like this instead of an enthusiast who would have enjoyed the car.
Nearly criminal.

Sure enough, pasting that number into the search on EBay elicited that listing. I don’t get why it doesn’t pop up at all when searching for Porsche 914. confused24.gif

Because the GT car is listed as a Porsche 914/6. There isn't a space between 914 and /6, so It's only trying to find those 5 specific characters together. If you search on 914/6, it'll find it. ....just my two cents...

Well Mike, it appears the new owner DOES want to sell the car lol.
I'm not here to comment too much on the sale. It's pretty obvious what happened and I have no problem with that although I didn't think it would happen so quickly. I owned it for the past 10 years (minus 1 year when a friend owned it) and I know the car inside and out and felt it was fairly priced. I don't think I left any "meat on the bone". Not sure it will bring much more but who knows.

Posted by: raynekat Aug 27 2019, 05:35 PM

Not too many people stepping up to the plate to buy this car at this price. Likely pretty fairly priced before the $20k increase.

I've been an enthusiast for over 30 years and know this 914 better than anyone. I thought it was priced correctly for what it is. Like they say "it's worth what someone is willing to pay" Oddly enough the eBay listing ended and says it sold so??? It's still listed elsewhere. Guess I need to change my avitar lol

I had my car at Fordal's and i'm pretty sure that car was there. Before the orange hood detail. Then, there was a kind of a shocking amount money in it. How much is the value dif with FG flares as opposed to metal?

Seems my old 914/6 has been sold.

Wonder if the new owner of my old car is a 914 World member. You out there?
