914World.com _ FS/WANTED: 914 Cars and Rollers _ FS: 1973 1.7 914 (SOLD)

First post, and probably my last…

I have decided to sell my 1973 1.7 914. I bought this car from the original owner in 2014 (50th birthday present to myself!). I had big plans of doing some work on it, maybe even restoring it to as near original as realistically possible. But after doing some minor work myself, I have decided car restoration is not my cup of tea. Most of the mechanical stuff has been done by Porsche Atlanta Perimeter (Jim Ellis Porsche) – new brakes & calipers, new clutch cable, tune-ups, oil changes. I have replaced the rear top bumper pad and lower valence, had new tires put on it, and a new battery.

The original owner put on a Monza exhaust (From Auto Atlanta), wood steering wheel and shift nob. Euro style side mirrors (left and right). I think they are listed as Baby Tornado mirrors by Auto Atlanta; I had to replace the right side mirror recently. Original fuel injection.

Full disclosure:
- The car has been repainted. It was a silver metallic (L96D), she had it repainted in Chrysler Light Cypress Green Pearl ( G2/WG2/PG2). I do have some touch up paint bottles for it.
- The dash top is cracked in a few places and has a dash cover on it now.
- The radio does not work. Actually it works but it has a mind of its own. It is a Blaupunkt Santa Fe CD32, with removable face-plate. It powers on then randomly changes stations and volume levels. The face-plate may have gotten wet or something. It will need to be replaced.

There is a box of parts to go with it. Some replacement rubber molding, Bosch distributor, lights, plugs, fuses, etc. It also has a car cover, and a set of 4 repair manuals (Chilton, etc.). I also have all the receipts from the original owner, including the original loan document (at 11.03% interest rate in 1973!), a well used owners manual, plus all my receipts.

113,000 miles.

Asking $12,500, somewhat negotiable. I figured I would list it here before putting a sign in the window or putting it on Craigslist.

The car is at my home in Peachtree Corners, GA, just north of Atlanta, and available for inspection. More pictures on request.

Thanks,
Mike P.
