Looks like 2 decent looking 914's this week at Barrett-Jackson, provided the doors actually close completely on the green one. Maybe they'll both get a little more love this year with the rising trends.

I have no affiliation with either car.
I like the 72'. I like the color (a bunch). I like heat. I like the suspension and brakes. No reserve. Put 3 or 4 knowledgeable buyers in the room and it might do well.
I agree; that '72 looks very nice and should do well.
The '76 will have a harder time if it's going to California since it has an engine swap.
when I see raptor paint on the underside, I always wonder what are they trying to hide, especially on a "no reserve" auction?
Everything is no reserve. Pretty bold move. The guy talking up the Lotus was humorous. Comparing it to a 914. 'The 914 sounds, well, like a VW'. I had forgotten how small the interior is with a Lotus.
Why would they leave the doors cracked open for the picture? Makes things look wonky to me. I’m referring to the green '72.
And a 90k, new, 04' Carrera fetched a pathetic 27.5. Market adjustment?

Not sure if this one got pulled or what happened. I can go straight to the page for it but it isn't in the catalog any more?? Sounded like an interesting car
The 76 just went for $23K. It supposedly dyno'd at 175hp.
FAT lists a same displacement engine that looks the same for $16,450. Plus what ever it takes to get it in a 914 and performing correctly. I wonder if BJ offers a guaruanteed sale price to the seller? If not, I think that was a painful sale.
Heavily weighted will 80's cars so far. I record it. The chatter, commercials and uninteresting vehicles make FF a must. Unbearable for me to watch live.
The green car "gaveled" for $45K.....$49.5K after fees.
Call it 50k plus transport (you know it will travel enclosed). And any fees incurred after you get it home. In WA? Prob tack 9.6% on the sales price. 60k+ pretax dollars? Too steep for me.
Seems to me the Red car was the better of the two cars. The plastic rocker panels on the green car make me nervous... must have been some corrosion that forced them to lose the originals. Considering the condition and the 'Fat' engine of the red car, that's the one I would take. Too much for the green one and not enough for the red one.
