I will PM you. I dont like listing email on the web, it generates spam. If you dont receive a PM, then PM me and I will get it to you. I should have listed here earlier, they are selling pretty quick.

Do you need any special tools to rebuild your own trans??? confused24.gif

Posted by: Dr Evil Dec 15 2010, 06:40 AM

Yes. You need a synchro hub puller, and an alignment jig. Less than $200 for both. There are other tools that help, but those are necessary. I will soon be marketing some helpful tools smile.gif

Can you shipped in France or better solution if possible, give me a link to download the video ?

Posted by: Dr Evil Jan 24 2011, 02:26 PM

Yes, shipping to France is the same cost. It will be US zone DVD code, though so make sure you can play that. I have shipped to UK, and AUS with no issue.

Posted by: 914zero Jan 24 2011, 02:53 PM

Thank's, I send you the money by paypal.
No problem with the US zone DVD, I already modified that for my young American cousin when he came in holliday in France with his US DVD.

Ok!

Which are the preferred locking ring ? The early tabbed version or the later non-tabbed?

Gear ID. Its often mentioned that as a fall back you can count the teeth, where is a chart defining teeth count =A-ZD Gear?

Posted by: Dr Evil Mar 10 2011, 11:56 PM

Use either ring. The non-keyed ones are early, but not inferior.

Here is a gear chart made by A. Cox. It is almost correct (ZD flip is in wrong spot). I am making another one that is simpler to read and includes everything.

This chart is also in my 31 pages link.

The 'regearing' tech article shows the data for a 'flipped H'

Article is here:

http://www.914world.com/specs/regearing_901.php

From the article, download the "914 901 Gear Ratio Workbook". The tab you want is "901 Gear Ratios & RPM-MPH Table"

(if the worksheet tabs don't show up along the bottom of the window, maximize the Excel window and you'll be able to see them)

Dearest Mr. Dr. Evil!! I totally enjoyed your video. Is there any plans for a 915 video?
Have you started selling the tools yet? How about that big bar that holds the mainshaft?

Posted by: Dr Evil Dec 10 2011, 09:19 AM

Hey Steve,
good to hear from you. I am glad you enjoyed it smile.gif

As for a 915 vid, not in the near future as I dont have time to do it as well as the 901 vid. The director/editor/producer of the 901 vid is cupomeat (Eric) on this forum and without his help on this project, you would have been staring at a screen that showed a still shot from a video camera on a tri pod. yawn.gif Now that Eric has made me raise the bar, I cant do anything less dry.gif

Eric also lives in North NJ so that is a ways away for me. The 901 vid was shot in one day (for my parts) with a 4hr trip out and back included smile.gif

dr. evil, i have a quick question. i damaged the opening where the oil seal for main shaft goes (this shaft is where my clutch plate and engine situated).
i have tried at least 5 oil seal and none successful. i was told that maybe the only option is to get a good used case and transfer the gears over.
any advice from you would be much appreciated.
i include a pic to view.

My turn! I would like to order your DVD please. I believe I have a 911/83 or 84 transaxle (the numbers and letters are barely discernible… looks like someone took a chisel to them). The transaxle performs fine; but with the SBC 350, 70 mph at ~3500 rpm is no fun!

Is the dvd the same info as your clinic?
It might be a good watch .
I'm trying go get to your june clinic in Toronto Canada.

Posted by: Dr Evil Dec 31 2012, 01:26 PM

Yup, but the clinic ends with you having a rebuild smile.gif I do recommend that perspective students view the video.

Posted by: kid914 Jan 1 2013, 02:43 PM

Is it geared (no pun intended) for the 901 only, or does it apply to 915 and so on?
And does it cover re gearings or just stock rebiulds.

Posted by: Dr Evil Jan 1 2013, 03:05 PM

The concepts in the 901 type can be applied to the 915, but it will not be specific to anything other than 901 types. Gearing changes are easy and covered in the DVD.

Posted by: wes Mar 1 2013, 11:46 AM

I am fairly mechanically minded though never seen the inside of a transmission, can it work for me, and dose it cover anything on making/deciding on gear change?

Posted by: Dr Evil Mar 1 2013, 01:50 PM

Yes, you can do it. Read the threads of people like you who have. As for gear changes, it's not hard and the DVD does address it.

Mike, I need a new copy of the Transaxle DVD. Please PM me so I can send funds to the proper address (Paypal o.k.?)

Sent you an email on problems I am having on my transaxle.

Whenever you can get to it, DVD and additional information would be appreciated.
