917, 908 and 907 Style Shift Knobs.

I manufacture and sell 917 replica shift knobs. These knobs are made to be used on 901, 915 and G-50 shift levers. They can be made in either the original 917 size of 38mm (approx. 1.5") or the standard road car size of 44.5mm (approx. 1.75"). The 901 and 915 styles come with the correct size hole so that the original or a new aluminum crush sleeve can be used for mounting. The G-50 style comes with a threaded bolt that is held inside the knob with epoxy.

These knobs are made from laminations of wood that are glued together using Polyurethane glue so heat build up in the car is not a problem, then they are hand turned and finished with a friction polish.

The knobs sell for $35 plus shipping.(usually $4-$8)
I also make wine/bottle stoppers using the smaller size, that a very cool. Stoppers sell for $40 plus shipping.

For more information or to order, please e-mail me at macross860@columbus.rr.com.

Thanks..
Mark..

Those cats would take a few... I've got all my knobs otherwise, at $35.00 I'd be lineing up.

Very cool smilie_pokal.gif

Just so you know, I also make wine/bottle stoppers using the 917 style knob and they make a very cool holiday gift.. They sell for $40, come in a gift box and with a velvet storage bag.

Thanks.

Can you make a matching shift knob and heater lever??

Posted by: 76911s Dec 6 2004, 07:19 AM

I’m sure that I could, I would need to know more specifically what you would like and if anyone else would be interested in the same idea. It’s cheaper to make more than one of something at a time.

What kind of wood is that pictured?

The woods I use primarily are Maple and Australian blackwood.

Thanks,

It’s a little weird, some e-mails are getting to me and some are not.

My e-mail is macross860@columbus.rr.com

Delivery right now is about 10 days – 2 weeks. I am in the middle of a couple of big projects and I make each knob to order.

Thanks for all the interest.

Should have done this a long time ago, but still wanted to say that this knob is great. Fits perfect and always gets attention from snoopers. Have mine on a 74 911 that has been Hot Rodded and it always gets the first coment. Great!!!

Thanks

PS- I got the smaller size.

These are still made by Mark however, they are sold EXCLUSIVELY by TRE Motorsports and are now $75.00.

Don't bother emailing him, he won't sell them here anymore.
