AutoAtlanta is offering up a group buy on reproduction 914 rear Euro amber and red Tail Light Lenses


Regularly priced at $199.50 for the pair

If we commit to 30 sets sold, the price will be reduced to $149.50

I bought a set of US lenses from AA a few months ago and one of them fit perfect and the other one needed a little encouragement (made a little crack sound but luckily held together at the seam). They look great and were on sale but would have to agree with your concern about exact fit.

Would be nice if they would just honor a price like 914 rubber does for there group buys. Especially with the history they have you would think they would go out of their way to accommodate buyers.

AA has only received 17 payments to date (including the 4 checks sent to me).
If all those that signed up for the group buy do not send payment by this Friday, I'll mail back the checks I received and I'll assume AA will refund payments sent to them.

Hey come on guys, it took us awhile to get to the 30 mark, now we gotta get the payments in so we can all benefit from this deal. I went to the AA website, typed in the group buy part number and paid for both my sets right on line.

It took awhile to hit he 30 person mark, some people may have forgotten they are part of the 30.

It takes about 40 people who say yes to get 30 paid. It's just the way groups work.

should have figured that (needing 40)...oh well...these lenses do look better than the ones produced a year or so ago.
should have suggested AA send (give) me a set to display on my 914, would have built up more interest and confidence in the product!

A true shame. I talked to one of the guys who purchased a set and he said the quality was "really really good". Oh well, if we don't get the group buy I will still buy 2 sets, might just take me a bit longer.

rmital - My car is still in the rebuild phase, but I'll post a picture of them installed on the tail light buckets off the car to show how they fit.

I'll get a picture tomorrow after I get off work at 5, should be able to post a picture later in the night.

Someone with a more complete car will have to provide a picture of the fit actually installed on the car.

As promised. I think the fit is absolutely great. I have some banged up tail light buckets and these repros fit very well. Please ignore my rear end issues in the pictures. They look great on the car. Very happy with this purchase. These exceeded my expectations!!!

I got mine also installed. I found a good set of housings which I restored, and istalled together with the new lenses. Also installed the LED bulbs.

yes 149.50 for 914 club members, we have at least 500 sets in stock, as we had to make that many to cover the expensive tooling costs, have them in the euro and the usa versions.
These were glued originally by Hella being made in segments, so we made them the same way for the sake of originality. Brutus the Porsche 916 is wearing a set, so we know that the quality and look will pass the highest concours muster.

We have the euro lenses! Over 500 sets in stock. I never know what possesses me to make so many of one part! Probably never sell all of these in the next ten years!

I have a habit of never thinking about the return on costs when making parts we need for our 914s. The per piece cost is ok, but the tooling is crazy. So then I figure that If I make a thousand lenses the per piece cost including the tooling is ok, so sign up for that. What I forget to calculate is how long it will (if ever) to sell all of those lenses.


For example, I still have over 500 1.7 muffler brackets I make about 20 years ago!!!!! (anyone need one?)
