Hey wizards ....need some help
Getting ready to make some changes and want to be sure I got this right
914/01 ----7501322 gearbox numbers
seems that may be original box (albiet converted to ss)
Had one built to replace but went oops

Well you are correct on both counts ..Not very well constructed question so it did not look like a question but was intended to be. Sorry for the confusion and sloppy grammar.
So now tell me how you came up with vin # based on the transmission number.

well, that's easy:

914043xxxx = modely year 1970

750yyyy = modely year 1970

both, VIN and tranny# are not influenced by the country of delivery (as the engine number is!)

so, if the running numbers xxxx and yyyy are so close like yours (1306 - 1322), it's very likely that they're originally matching
but of course, that's no proof

the first production 914-6 had serial # 9140430011 type 36 with transmission # 7500011, date of mfg was 7-1969, second production 914-6 had transmission # 7500014
