914World.com _ Originality and History _ Georgia's claim to fame

Posted by: dr914@autoatlanta.com Oct 25 2017, 07:38 AM

I am proud to be a Georgian as we are currently hosting THREE of the 11 916s ever made. One of course is here in the Autoatlanta museum, Brutus, which we restored here last year is at the Porsche headquarters museum in Atlanta, and the Bill Story car is out in eastern Georgia. Pretty great to have three of them all in this great state!

That is impressive. Pictures? Coming to Rennsport VI?

There was a metallic blue 916 (originally metallic brown?) for sale in San Francisco several years ago. Is that car one of the Georgians?

No Brutus is the black one owned by Corinne Porsche and ours is the silver one. Bill Story's car is Dark blue, but the one you are referring to is now in austria, used to be owned by jerry leonard in indianapolis

Maybe someone should arrange to get the 3 of them together since they are all so close together. Might make an interesting article for Pano or Excellence. Might make for some interesting photos for 914 World.

Totally agree. Especially with the three being so close

Yes it is the gt tank. Installed when the car was first built. Brutus is a very interesting car. There is a spread on 914club.com that we did when building it. It had a very rousing reception at Amelia earlier this year, and is currently in the Porsche museum in Atlanta. I know personally that every nut and bolt is in its proper place! We put that car together from a bard body shell with all of the original parts scattered after being apart for over 20 years
