914World.com _ Originality and History _ Pushrod Tubes

Posted by: bbrock Jan 12 2018, 01:14 PM

Spent an hour last night looking through survivor pics and threads trying to find an answer, but no luck. Were pushrod tubes originally plated, painted, or left raw? Would like to match the original before reassembling my engine.

Thanks.

new correct ones are so cheap and usually the originals are bent "up" from pushrod tube seal replacement, that is cheaper and easier to replace with new. We ALWAYS install new ones with our engine rebuilds

Some of the replacements are clear and the others are cad plated.
