914World.com _ Originality and History _ Why I cannot lead this forum

Posted by: Pat Garvey Mar 10 2018, 08:21 PM

Though I really enjoyed being a part of this community, I've been absent for a couple of years - and will be so from now on. It isn't because of disputes or anything like that. It's been health issues. Have numerous cardiovascular issues, including 2 TIAs, hypertension, etc. Have no strength to do 914 stuff for 4 years now. Now wife has Parkinson's.

So, I ask that my name be removed as leading this forum and replaced with someone who really cares. Never thought the day would come but I'll most likely remove my 914 from the garage where it has sat unattended since 2002.

Good luck to all, and at least TRY to keep some of them to original specs.
Pat

Miss you Pat. beerchug.gif

Sorry to hear, Pat. I'm one of those crusty ones who says stupid stuff all the time. You have always been rock solid. I hope you'll actually stay around. This place often becomes about the people as much as the cars, and you are an important part of us.

I hope your wife does well. I spent the last 3 years of my dad's life taking care of him. Parkinson's is horrible. I just pray she doesn't get the dementia piled on top that I saw.

You need to do what's right for you and your family of course. Never forget, you have a few thousand friends here that care, so I hope you'll lean when you need and still hang out.

Sorry to hear the health news for you and your wife. Wish you both the best!

Thanx for your time shepherding the O&H Forum all those years.

Cheers!

I wish you all the best in coping with your situations at home with your family and self.

Many have sought your wisdom and help here and for that we are grateful....

Stay strong. Seek humour to cope, and don't become a slave to inner moping or self pity. You WILL see light at the tunnels end, and do know we care both individually and as a community for you and your situation.

All the BEST. HURRY BACK !

Pat

I don’t know you but working with my father on 914s is one of my most cherished memories. I understand and hate the progression of time. If I can ever be of assistance please let me know.

My current will leaves my 914 to my god son who I hope will continue the tradition.

Wish you the best.

Glad we have people like you, take care!

Miss your camaraderie Pat. Life's priorities change over time, its OK. Take care of yourself and your wife and let us know if you need anything. 914-related or not.

Find someone local to help you/inherit that 914 of yours, release yourself from that burden.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Pat. I will miss you on this forum. You have had a large impact on how my Six morphed from a GT bodied hotrod to an almost stock build, save the 3.2. Cheers and God bless. Michael
