Here's some info on Factory Steel Flares.

Here's an invoice from 2002 when they were reasonably priced. OEM Steel factory flares are a must for the M-471 pkg.

I checked at Stoddard today...the set of four go for $2432.41. This price already includes a 10% discount for buying all four panels.

I picked up my set from ad in Autoweek about 10 yrs ago for a paltry sum of $335 including shipping.

here's the 2nd page of the famous GT list (facsimile) originally from Porsche
it dates back in June 1971

see the different names of the flares
Porsche: wing extension
Brumos: body panel / quater panel

well, there are more than 30 yrs between ...
